I've never really used them. I always keep a greased bolt in the hole though, I think they are prone to breaking.

Looks awesome, the only thing I would change is mounting the brake to the mid-stay bridge since there is a hole there. I would have a hard time passing on a high end mixte like this!

I'd love to go but I don't know if I'll have the money for a flight or the time for a drive out to Cali. Maybe I should plan to do it 2017 though...

So many 3 speeds in Ontario seemed to get this treatment, I've seen City of London red reflective stickers on the seat-stays of some of them. They are all quite tenacious in their adhesion even after...

If you can't find Kroil I've had some success with CRC freeze-off, I had to go to an Acklands-Grainger to order it but I got a big can for 15$ and it got a few stems and posts out.

I like some of this stuff a lot just looking at the pictures, their centre pull brakes are nicely finished and use the Mafac style of pad alignment, they also have a nice pulley for the straddle...

If you're willing to do a coaster rear brake, the velosteel hubs can be bought on ebay from a UK source in 110 spacing. I usually just relace the vintage front hubs if I'm rebuilding the wheels.

A friend of mine is lucky enough to own a Fukaya from Japan that came with 590 wheels. It's got canti posts so I assume it was made with that size in mind. There's probably many fine Japanese frames...

I love drum brake hubs. I built up a nice 3 speed for my housemate with the newest SA hubs and it's been in near-daily use for a year without any problems.

While not quite plug and play you can tap the hole (10x1) and use a Shimano Crane (or titlist) without any problems. I did this on one of my px-10s so I could use a long cage derailleur. If I ever...
