there was no other way to mount to my french early 70's frame with no brazeons or cable guides.
if you search or bikelist.org and sheldon's site, you'll see lots of folks chime in with their experiences as to why sturmey archer hubs shouldn't be used in sporting situations. there are a couple...
you should run white industries DOS ENO freewheel and call it a day.
big shout out to sandi metz for creating bike calc!
check it out and geek out to optimal gear ratio calculations.
An investment should offer returns on investment - that generally doesn't happen unless you are hoarding pristine lugged steel italian race bikes with the intent to flip for profit. every bike i've...
I broke my s3x hub on my third ride. I was out on a hilly ride and stood up to climb on a 15% grade. the gear slipped and i was lucky to not damage the family jewels on the top tube. it was...
English Cycles employs a similar concept. To hell with frame rigidity!
The internal ratio of the SX3 is .625, .75 and 1.0 (Direct).

for posterity: (based on my 55cm poprad)
st (c-c) -55
st (c-t) - 58
sta- 73 deg
hta - 72.5 deg
cs - 43
another singular. with big a.dugast rubbers.
singular. interesting mix of elegance and utility.
this thread sucks. c'mon people.
Maybe on a compact frame. That's not even possible (nor desirable) on most classic bikes as the post is <20cm long and require at least 1/3 of that to be inserted into the seat tube. Ever hear of...
