Isn't that kind of like a motorist saying, "I shouldn't get a speeding ticket because other cars are speeding." ?

Same roads, same rights, same responsibilities
Absolutely ticket cyclists who break the law. I've never understood the controversy there.
From what I understand, Wallingford has a great return policy.

I have one of each (both B-17s). I started with the Standard and it took a couple of 150+ mile weeks to break it in. Several months later, I got an Imperial and was expecting to have to bear with it...
The first rule of Trollheim...
It was moved to a sub-forum called Trollheim. It's a no-holes-barred forum where almost anything goes. Threads that have a high amount of contention or are moving toward a state of name-calling tend...
Sorry to bump the old thread but I had to share that I rode to work for the first time since my accident.
I was taken aback by how crazy slow I am. This Wednesday will mark the one-year...
Right on. I think this frame will accommodate 38cm tires (about 1.5" ?).
As for knobbies, I'm not a fan, so I have switched both my MTBs to slicks.
I was thinking of having a touring/commuting...
I just got a new 2010 Jamis Aurora Elite and plan on making a similar set-up. It came with 700c wheels and I'm planning to get a 29" wheelset for some light off-roading duties. If I'm thinking this...
I love my Specialized Armadillos.
I haven't read the whole thread so I apologize, if this has been addressed.
Please define "commuting bike" because I can't think of a bike shop I've been in that doesn't have plenty of 26" wheeled...
Sorry.
I'll hush, now.:)
This coming from a person who had a conniption because a stranger had the gaul to recommend he wear a helmet. If I remember correctly, the point of the rant in the helmet thread had something to do...
In years past, I've seen them during my commute, but have never participated. My accident occurred the day before last year's RoS. Most didnt expect me to pull through and they said a little prayer...
I have this one, also.
I also got the folding mirror.

Wow. That would make it all very frustrating. I've never had a person who saw me and exchanged a nod pull out on me. However, I did exchange a nod with a couple of kids coming out of a local high...
I've not tried the pointing technique, but I try and make eye-contact and give a nod to drivers as they approach on cross streets. It seems to help.
I have a $15, Schwinn seatpost rack that works fine for strapping stuff on top.
The biggest drawback is that it doesn't have the side pieces like the Topeak rack that 10 Wheels posted. So...
If you're commute is strenuous, switching to an every-other-day type schedule should help. Make the full ride on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Tuesday and Thursday, either drive or take a shorter...
Thanks. Actually, they tend to not wrap or tape patients with rib fractures anymore, (I think it is because they found a higher rate of pneumonia in their patients who were wrapped). Ribs will heal,...
Not a dumb question, at all. My left side took the impact and the most damage. However, I had broken bones on both sides. The left side of my ribcage was collapsed and the doctors told my wife I'd...
Most here are familiar with my accident, last year so I won't bore everyone by revisiting it.
But attached is an X-ray of the titanium rib repair they performed several days later.
I agree with most of this assessment. I tend to bring wicking T-shirts along on my trips for wearing around camp. But, while on my bike, I prefer having the pockets on back to stash bananas and...
This is what I usually do. Just wear my cycling clothes into the shower, lather up, disrobe, rinse and wring.
Still trying to figure out the point of this thread. If it really is about surprises with alcohol stoves, then it was summed up in post #3.
The invisibility of alcohol flames is a bit unique....
