Hey there. I have a new shirt for my site In The Crosshairs, CXHairs.com, that I thought some of you folks may be interested in having. It's a Lloyd-Dobler-Sans-Boombox type thing and all the cool...
The MABRAcross Super 8 Schedule is now up at MABRAcross.org.
Stoked to have Mike Zanconato build me a super cool new bike. Custom steel lugged xxl frame (I'm 6'5"). This was one of Zank's show bikes at the 2011 NAHBS, which just ended in Austin, TX. The bike...
Fun race. Made for some good video. Three helmet cams combined with some outside the tape footage. All right here: http://www.cxhairs.com/2010/10/26/dccx-tandem-the-movie/
Video preview with commentary from the promoters including dc.cyclocross is posted here: http://www.cxhairs.com/2010/10/21/dccx-course-preview/
Good day Saturday.
Crashy day Sunday.
All depicted in moving pictures here: www.cxhairs.com.
Just posted a video on CXHairs.com about what to include in your gear bag. Good tips and insight on clothing selection and eliminating that sinking feeling when you show up at a race with only one...
I just posted a video with race commentary for what I believe will be the Sunday course. It is here: http://www.cxhairs.com/2010/09/09/charm-city-cross-race-preview-video/
The Sunday race will have the sand and the stairs. That is the traditional course. There are no stairs going down. These are stairs that have been built into the side of a grass hill to force a...
All races will be posted on BikeReg.com. So far, no MABRAcross races have opened for registration. When they do, there will be plenty of advanced warning on the MABRAcross.org site, the MABRAcross...
John-
Good to know. Thanks for the feedback. We are definitely tweaking the site as we go along.

If you are racing in the Mid-Atlantic, or if you are just curious about those of us that are, check out the new MABRAcross website: www.mabracross.org Race schedules, results, points competition ......
Ken-
What courses did the 42t chainring not give you easy enough gearing? I've found that to be the perfect combination for me. But from the description of your strengths we may be on the opposite...
Thanks for the photo. That's me figuring out how to ride the descent with no front brake (broken cable) and a barely operational rear brake. Turns out, you can usually go faster than you think and...
Great course. Sweet venue. Fun day. Thanks to the DCMTB crew for hosting this event. If you haven't seen it, I have helmet-cam video up here.
Steve-You going to All Hallows? Will you have more...
Thanks everybody for coming out. We worked pretty hard to make an interesting course with what we had. Still wanted to keep it fast and not throw in unnecessary switchbacks, etc. Glad everybody liked...
Similar to this.
Kelley Acres helmet-cam now live: http://www.cxhairs.com/2009/10/07/kelley-acres-video-mens-masters-34/
Definitely a SS-friendly course. There is not a hill on the course. You can get away with a pretty big gear as there is maybe ten feet of elevation change. There is a run-up we were trying to...
I think I'm going to run 34s at about 30psi for BCA. My arms are still sore from last year. The ballfield to sand pit section is dreadfully boring. At least throw a couple switch backs in there....
I have helmet-cam video from the B race and the Masters B at www.cxhairs.com. I will also be filming BCA and Kelley Acres. Hopefully from a little farther up the field.
No Iron Cross for me, this year. My knees voted 'no' and my new-found responsibilities as race promoter pose a big conflict for that weekend.
Hyattsville CX is October 11 in Hyattsville, Maryland. Five minutes from DC. This is an off week for all you MABRA folks so we expect to see you there. Registration is OPEN:...
