if it still hurts after 2-4 weeks, new saddle. However, only 4 days could be settling in.
In the long run, the right saddle will NOT hurt once you're accustomed to cycling.

If you go with nashbar, don't commute on the Alu-C frame. Mine cracked after three months. That said, they provided a full refund.
I've had great service from Ibex and Exposure lights, especially with warranty issues. Additionally, Dinotte lights has been fantastic - they even supplied small parts for free when I had problems...
OP
It's cool to see somebody wearing a mask, I might try wearing one too. Polyaromatic hydrocarbons in soot and visible exuast are disgusting and hazardous. Anything that helps, sign me up.
rhm, would you say the cable traval on the new x-rf8(w) shifter differs from that on the old x-rf8?
If you were in cali, you should have grabbed her phone and thrown it down a grate. Citizen justice, driving without a headset is illegal. Where are you?
good
hilarity. I get burned for being pro-carbon while anti-technology! I only mention carbon in looking out for my (stealth?) carbon fiber brethren. However, sggoodri's input on the robustness of...
I'm no fan of motoring, or motorists, but generally most drivers are safe because they remain attentive. However, potentially dangerous technology, developed by Ford and BMW, is premiering that...
Reading through the posts, it doesn't sound like there is a trend or rash of thefts. Just lock bickering... I should say the lock was on the lower end, a "kryptolock." I'm still using my New York...
The bay area will always be a magnet for bicycle theft. However, I'm noticing a trend. While not quantitative, I'm seeing more bicycles stolen "without a trace." That is, bicycle disappears with...
Man, I had an old schwin too, and in college the pedal slammed off as well -- in front of ladies! I do not know if it was a schwin varsity. I proceeded to ride the bike for another two weeks...
i totally agree with the above poster on the incompetence at bikebling. I ordered a stem from them, and it took three calls and two months to be delivered. Maybe they're OK with in stock material,...
For rear lights, I highly reccomend the dinottes. They are wicked bright, do a search and you'll get many testimonials. Made in America:

how about a jersey that looks like a speed limit sign? All the roads I ride are 25 mph, I'd love a jersey like that.
Also, a letter to the editor of the newspaper for publication, not a letter to the sheriff, might be more effective.
The Sheriff addresses complaints about irresponsible drivers in the close of his article, "To the motoring public, this does not mean its open season on cyclists." I would remove your last paragraph...
These lights are AWESOME. The service is superb. They really try to please, and I was a tough customer. I ride with two reds and one 200L. I'm extremely tempted to buy backups, although I've...
EVERYTHING is made or powered by oil. Plastics, transportation fuels, fertilizers, teraforming. As cyclists we don't feel the immediate effects, but we will feel larger effects soon enough.
Something similar happened to me. Suburban teen girls irresponsibly driving a new car. They screamed at me for kicks. Usually I'm a Zen buddhist, but it's not cool to intentionally startle a...
use shims, improvised or otherwise, to secure your lock to the bike.
"Unfortunate accident", my arse.
+1
With that distance, efficieny demands a road bike, and drop bars give you more hand positions if you become fatigued.
I think it's pretty disingenuous for the university to retract their offer to return the bikes. That's rough Leilin.
If the situation is as you say, I would have been LIVID. After a crash, if you can it seems best to try and speak to the policeman first.
