yeah, trials riders can't get up anything unless they are clipped in. and i guess all of us who ride flat pedals aren't actually riding up the technical stuff we ride up then?
i'm not saying you...
yup, it's not BS, they hear it all the time, and we sell flat pedals all the time.
yeah, that movie sucked!
it sucked so much that trek built "rad" ross schnell a RAD themed bike for his singlespeed world championship race.

depends on you
yes, in some ways, and it will also hurt your riding
depends on where you live.
riding clipless is fine, but not mandatory. i prefer flat pedals and feel there is no...
continental trail king (formerly rubber queen). because for our conditions (rocky, sandy, hardpack), they are awesome and grippy and last.
sweet bike. if i ever get to ride out in nevada, i'll bring my road bike too....
your goal was to finish, and you did. KICK ASS!! great job, seriously, congratulations. next year, if you do it again, i bet you finish top 3.
go to a bike shop and ask, they usually will point you to the best trail maps or info. go to a few different shops to make sure. check singletracks.com, or perhaps google "mtb trails in new mexico"

damn...pressure....
this is my technique.
give way to those faster than you, don't block them. if someone is on your wheel and they are clearly stronger, pull over and let them by.
if you don't intend to win, don't start in the front,...

if you don't intend to win, don't start in the front, but don't start in the back either, start just behind the halfway point in the pack.

true, i was oversimplifying and generalizing. my contis are waaay heavier than other UST tires, and yeah, tubeless does cut down on rolling weight, where you really feel it. i just don't understand...
i never try to censor myself.
first question out of most people's mouth these days..."how much does it weigh?" talking about bikes, pedals, tires. one dude actually asked me how heavy the tube was when he was buying a tube. ...
if you wanna use liners, the best way to install them is to have your tube in your tire, mostly on, and slide the liners between the tube and tire.
google "semi slick mtb tires"
