A Raleigh (America) Tangent. Fifteen dollars asking price at a moving sale. Final price $5.00 since both transverse brake cables were off (brakes don't work). It was dirty and needed new tires. This...
I know a lot of folks hate adjustable stems, but i have three. One is permanently mounted on a single speed cruiser. The other two rotate between bikes until I can find a length or height that I...
Chain is off and the front fender is backwards?
Rear fender, too, I think.
What you guys said!
I thought it was an interesting bike - a model not sold in the US, but I just had to go back...
What's wrong with this picture?
If youu are near Glen Burnie, MD, this may be of interest.
I just put a zip tie around my safety lever.
You may have given friction shifters a whole new life. Now Shimano, SRAM, and Campy will need to develop a lawn mower gruppo. I'm...
Now what are you going to do with the other shifter?
I believe that Suntour and Sugino were part of a Japanese industry group that had a "non compete" agreement. Those derailers were most likely either rebranded Suntours, or post agreement.
I'm interested. Which kind of Pliobond did you use?
I use a penny on the back side. It's always worked for me. I'll sel mine for 5.99 + shipping.
Three Suntour Bar-Cons and a pair of ratcheting down tube Power Shifters. Two of the shifters needed a little TLC to get the ratchet working, but all are ticking like clocks now.
Nice smart*** comment, but I was asking a serious question. Is this a decent bike? If not, no problem.:thumb:
I found a Marin Bear Valley for $100. It is in very good condition, but the seat, seat post (shock), and stem (silver riser) have been are replacements. The derailers and shifters are Deore. The...
Everyone wants brake lever covers like these.
Perhaps manufacturers should market 30" wheels for bikes that large. The vertical frame tubes could shrink a bit then.
+1 I wouldn't be afraid of the bulges either, but like prathmann said, paint the areas. It sounds like your daughter is going to be riding it gently. The frame is steel, so as long as she checks for...
I was reading a thread about the Flying Pigeon that reminded me of a bike in the garage.
I bought this nearly a year ago. The OP hadn't a clue as to how to assemble it, and was so disgusted that...
+1 on the Austrian made Sears. I wish that I had never sold mine.
Maybe you should look for some Calvin & Hobbes consolidations at B&N or other local book store killer. All knowledge is there.
I may get some flak for this, but there are lots of saddles out there (not Brooks) that are very good, and are comfortable from the start. I don't think the material matters a bit, unless you must...
Did you see the Dr. Who with the evil snowmen?
I like to use Dawn dish washing detergent as a first step. I try not to use petroleum solvents as the first wash. A vigorous brushing will usually take off most of the crud. A solvent bath is the...
OUCH!!! I feel for you.
