    sora

If it's 9 speed tiagra, just pick up the new Sora shifters. They seem to be built well and no longer have the separate thumb shifter. They're a lot like the previous generation 105 (5600) or...

    new pull

Brake cable pull. TRP CX9 have 90mm arms and work best with the new cable pull ratio on most of the shimano shifters (5700, 6700, etc. -- just not sure about sora/tiagra).

    Some mention of it...

    New Sora 3500?

Does anyone have experience with the Sora 3500 levers for touring? I'm not interested in bar-end shifters, and I would like a reliable set of STI shifters with Shimano's new cable pull ratio. (I...

    new tiagra is old 105?

The new Tiagra is the old 105? I thought the new Tiagra had a different pull ratio like the 5700, 6700, etc.
  6. mini v

Or just get Mini-Vs. I used them with my 105 levers without any issues, and as far as I can tell they work just as well as regular V-brakes.

    bike

3 grand is enough to buy an (N+1)st bike.
  8. wheelset

That's a heavy wheelset for $400. Good for loaded touring maybe.

    ritchey torque key

My ritchey torque key has removable bits, and indeed came with a set of 3 bits. There is another version that has a non-removable bit.

    Mine is like this:...

    torque key

You can pick up a pre-calibrated 5NM torque key for about 20 bucks. e.g:

That will probably work for most of the parts, except maybe...

I'm running an old Easton Vista wheelset with 25mm Rubino Pros without any problem. I believe the Eastons are 19mm rims, but I think there's easily enough clearance for a wider rim.

As far as I know it was only $656 for a day. I placed my order before and called in to have the price lowered to $656 on the day the sale was posted. Maybe the $656 sale was a pricing error?

    torque wrench trouble

I bought a 3/8" 'click type' autocraft torque wrench, which is advertised to to have a 10-80 ft/lb range in 1 pound graduations.

Etched on the shaft of the wrench is a scale ranging from 120 to...
