Dura Ace AX pedals - bearings loose

I have a bike in the shop with those funky 32mm Dura Ace pedals. Both have about 1/2" of play (very loose). I took one apart thinking maybe it had the wrong size BBs but they seem to only fit 5/16....

Sorry forgot to mention: it's a built in clamp (Shimano SLX Dynasys), not braze-on (unfortunately)

Edit: Hm, just looked at the manual, they list a shim for 28.6 as "SM-AD17S Clamp Band Adapters...
  4. Possible to shim front derailleur from 34.9 to 28.6?

I know shimming from one size is no problem but TWO sizes? Possible?

    Update (and conclusion)

Replaced the front derailleur with another 34.9mm. Still can't reach small ring with 110 BB. Installed 113mm BB, that did it. Very tricky but now working

I have the bike at a shop right now where they're taking out the seized BB (hopefully). I'll give a 113mm spindle a try

It's a triple FD. I said it was an XTR but I was thinking of something...

The proper limit screw is all the way out (not touching) and the cable is disconnected. The front derailleur is just not capable of reaching (Shimano XTR M950)

    Adding spacers would be somewhat...
  8. Small ring sits too close to frame, FD can't shift into it

I'm a bit perplexed about this situation

Vuelta MTB triple with 110mm BB (as called for by the manufacturer)
The small ring apparently sits too close to the frame though because the front...

Doh! Should've thought of that. Thanks a million!

Oddly I had to use some teflon tape on the threads of the barrel adjuster so it wouldn't slip. This is a new old stock Weinmann cable
  10. Question about Shimano 3 speed cable attachment

I'm perplexed about how to install a new cable for a Shimano 3 speed. Putting the cable on the shifter makes sense, routing the cable makes sense, but where the cable terminates at the knurled...
  11. Searching for a stub axle for a trailer

I snapped the stub axle on my cheapo kid trailer (turned cargo trailer). I can't seem to locate parts for it; says "CD Cycle Design" on it.

Any leads on where to find replacement stub axles?
    If I...

    Above par mixte frames?

    Hey all,

I've seen my fair share of run of the mill Raleigh, Peugeot and Centurion low end mixtes and I always love the style but there is hardly anything else impressive about them.

    What can...

    Securing a Brooks saddle

    Hey lovely bike folk,

Like many, I love my Brooks; I can't think of riding without it. But, having a hundred dollar saddle precariously perched on an insecure post doesn't sit too well with me....
  15. To reduce quadriceps stress, which way should i slide my saddle? (fore/aft)

    Hey all

Ive had on again off again quadriceps tendinitis for 4 years
Riding today pain started to flare up and out of curiosity I felt along my tendon while pushing through my pedal strokes. As I...

I seem to recall SA speccing regular cantilever levers but also recall these being insufficient in actual practice. I'd figure your foremost option are some inline travel adjusters
