    I've used the cheap ($40-$50) "Spin Doctor" stand from Performance's house brand with good luck. It folds up, too. The Park looks more solid, but out of my budget (plus the SD was a gift).

    FWIW, a bolt-on collar seems to have fixed it (knock on wood). I think the weird clamp just didn't put enough pressure in the right place. Thanks for all the help though folks. :)

    I've gone 1000 miles without a flat, gotten three in a week and then gone another 1000 without a flat on the same set of tires before. Could be the moon or, as someone suggested, sunspots:)
