Average grades are interesting, but they don't tell the story of the climb. You really need a profile map with different sections of grades highlighted. For example, while the average grade of...
I'd love to go, but there's no way I can get away tomorrow. Have fun!
Glad you're not more seriously injured. FWIW, my experience with Gatorskins has not been positive the 4000s on the other hand, has been outstanding.
Cornering is a learned skill. Do you ski or...
Great job Curtis and Ron! Sounds like you had a wonderful day.
Glad you came out and joined us! You shot more pictures than I realized, thanks :-)
Ya'll missed a great day! I think gw_12 shot a few pictures. Here's my Strava: Bike Ride Profile | Cothrin Ranch Loop near Rancho Cordova | Times and Records | Strava
Next time on a Sunday. Any...
We're fixing to leave now (8:40). We'll regroup at the Sac State Aquatic Center about 9:10 if you're running late. The address is: 1901 Hazel Ave, Gold River, CA 95670
All sent. See ya Saturday!
There must be something strange about that section that the mapping programs all route through the dirt. It's like a cycling Bermuda Triangle.
RWGPS always does strange things through there. The route I plan on is all paved. Ugh. Sometimes I hate technology.
Curtis, have a great time!
Sent you both a PM with my address. :thumb:
Are you two staying for dinner?
Make sure to include that info when you sign up!
Ok folks. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. It's looking good for me on the 22nd, so that'll be the date. The route is amazing, and very green right now. There are a few stretches of busy...
Her incredible amount of power is what broke that pedal. ;-)
Wish I could have made it. Hopefully I will later on in the Spring or Summer.
The group ride is likely to be a bit slower :thumb:
Yup, road bikes. I expect that on Sunday we'll be pacing 18'ish on flats. Regroups at hill tops. The ride is pretty hilly, with grades over 17%. Lots of climbing. I've been put to shame buy guys...
Incidentally, I'm planning to do the route this Sunday. I want to get an idea of total ride time with the Subway lunch stop. If any of you are interested in coming up to preview the route, please...
We're closing in on March. I'll pick a Saturday in another few weeks, looking for a long term forecast where the weather is favorable. We'll meet at my place and have a meal/beer post ride.
There are always a few lights on my rides that don't turn. But not a city or township as a whole.
I always wait at lights for a cycle. If it doesn't turn, then I'll run it when traffic is...
Looks like enough of you are interested. As we hit March, I'll start tracking the weather and pick a date about a week out.
Do you prefer a Saturday or a Sunday?
If you like Beatty, there's a 2hour "how many times can you climb it" challenge on Jan 1. 9am sign up at the park on Alexandra, climbing starts at 10. I will not be there. I used to climb it twice...
Thanks for the suggestion, but I very much like the route as is.
Ok folks, I keep trying to get ya'll to come out here for a ride. Here's the route that I'm thinking of. It's a beautiful ride, my favorite in the area. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3522737 ...
