I am an auto racing enthusiast, and have been collecting auto racing books since 1955. My racing library now totals around 55 books (mostly hard cover in excellent condition), and they include a wide range of books from Indy, to sprint car racing, to midgets, to the early NASCAR days. Alot of autobiographies of drivers like Graham Hill, Wilbur Shaw, Mark Donohue, Jim Hurtubise, Smokey Yunick (3 volumes), A.J. Foyt. If you don't know who these guys are, this isn't for you! ;-). Quite a few of the books are major volumes, and originally cost $125 each. I'm sure quite a few are out of print. I would say the total collection was worth over $2,000 new. What are they worth now? I don't know. But I would like to sell the whole collection and use the money to buy a new road bike. If you are interested (or know someone who might be), send a self addressed, stamped envelope to me and I will send you the complete list. This would make a great Christmas present for an auto racing fan. Tom McGeehan, 206 E. Oak Street, Somerset, KY 42501. firstname.lastname@example.org. 606-678-0783 evenings.
