Empellas are really nice frames. There's a guy in my area who has one and swears by it. Keep in mind that this is a straight-ahead racing frome, though. I has no bottle mounts and no rack eyelents for touring. The frame is light, I am told, but exceptionally stiff and not ideal for long hours in the saddle. If you plan to race, the $575 frame at cyclocrossworld.com is a great value; if you plan to ride it recreationally, it'll probably beat the piss out of you. If I ever get around to a frame upgrade [not for a few years] I might consider an Empella, but I'm a mudbunny.

There's a cyclocross discussion board [British] at http://www.cyclo-cross.com/. There may be more experienced people there.

    Hey Racer,

I'm sure that Empella is not allowed...no, it clearly states here, no bikes that gorgeous are allowed in the forums...

OMGG that is pretty. Is the finish as matte-like as it looks, or is there a bit of clearcoat on there?

Beautiful bike. I have a pair of Spinergy Spox wheels that are several years old, the best set of wheels i've ever had. I can't imagine what they must do to that Empella - scary.

Here's another flat black beauty. I forgot where I saw this but the author is Mark Legg, a cx racer.

It's called the Bianchi Cross Concept 2003. Made of Scandium.

Very nice. I think your Empella wins the beauty contest though. What series do you race in RacerX?
