My father (64 years old) consulted me about getting a bike. I tried to persuade him to get a hybrid or regular mountain bike, but he ended up wanting a comfort bike. After I talked him into spending a little more money, and avoiding the X-mart bikes, he went bike shopping with me. He ended up getting a 2003 Gary Fisher Capitola for $ 279 I think. He's just looking for a bike to use on paved biking/walking trails and get a little exercise. We tried going the used market at the LBS, but nothing turned up, and he wanted something quick. Please tell me I gave him decent advice in choosing this bike for him...I'm questioning my own recommendation, but he refused to spend over $ 300 and didn't want to search all over creation. The bike seems very solid to me and rides very well, does anyone have any experience on this model for just riding paved trails??? Thanks
