Clydesdale aero wheels?

Anyone know of any clydesdale aero wheels/rims which will work with disc brakes?

Aero == 50mm + high.

Best I can find is HED alps with a rebuild of the hub and then "expect some problems"

Naturally I would prefer no problems.

Disc brakes on a road bike? Seems a lot of unnecessary rotational mass to me. Don't know of any such prebuilt wheels, but of course you can always have one built by a wheel builder...or by yourself.

How do you find a wheel builder who can build such a wheel.

The best I can find is Rolf tanden but it only has 35mm of height. Ideal would be 55-80mm like the Zipp 606 or 808. Zipp won't work with disc. Alps will "work" but is carbon so will probably fail. No Alum found with deep rims. You need more than 40mm to have decent aero benefits.

Stopping/loosing speed on long wet downhills is more important to me than rotational mass. Just don't trust rim brakes anymore.

The aero rim profile isn't for aerodynamics but for rim strength. The likelihood of a deep-V rim staying true is much higher than for a box rim, in my experience.

I also build wheels (but I'm nowhere near his league) and if I were to build a set for someone super heavy (which I'm not because I'm super backlogged, so don't think I'm advertising my services in the wrong forum, or anything) I'd have Velocity drill me some 48 hole non-machined DeepV's (and they come in all sorts of purty colors) and lace them 4x to a phil disc-brake hub.

Discs don't add spinning resistance if that's what you are insinuating
