Just noticed a Tamer suspesnion seatpost in my latest Nashbar, the model that is hinged - very odd looking. Anyways, does anyone use a suspension seatpost - are they worth it. What would you say is the best model for trail riding.

I sold my hardtail, but it came stock when I bought my bike. I hated it! I never knew where my seat was. In order to set the correct height when pedaling, I had to set the post high. When I stood, the seat would raise, and was always rubbing my inside thigh. When I was descending, and off the back of the saddle, it was always catching on my shorts.
I do know however, that many people love theirs once they get used to it. I never did! Or, never gave it a chance. I think I rode my bike 3 times with it on, and switched to a regular post!

Are you talking about the Tamer Tricky Dick model?
I run the U.S.E. suspension seatpost on my Klein Attitude. I run the s/s @ a pretty high compression and don't have any of the issues with the seat popping up/down. In fact, I cannot even tell that I'm running a s/s - except for after the ride when my back thanX me. The U.S.E. has telescopic movement - so there is no change in the distance between the seat and the handlebars.Originally posted by nikos

Overall, I still like the U.S.E. after 3 or 4 years of use and abuse.
I noticed that the Thudbuster got great reviews on mountain bike reviews, anyone test or have that one?
I've got the Thudbuster. Really nice suspension seat post. robust , relativelylight and the action mimicks real suspension better than the telescopic variety. They also don't develop as much play.
really great product
