Jason Karp, M.S., a physiologist at Indiana University, conducted a small study that seemed to indicate that chocolate milk was better as a recovery drink than some of the products that are marketed for that purpose. He picked up a lot of media attention for ****, so there are a lot of articles on the web about it, but they are all just about an inch deep. You can read IU's news tip here: https://newsinfo.iu.edu/tips/page/normal/1674.html

It's supposed to be quite good. The only time I have trouble with it is on long rides away from home. Milk in a hot car for hours= not good. But I can keep a pre-measured amount of recovery drink powder in the car with some water. Mix it when I am done.

+1... (seinfeld right?... niiiiice)... My brain loves chocolate milk, but my digestive system has something else to say about it... Is there a recovery drink for your recovery drink?

Works for me, I always have chocolate milk after my rides. I have chocolate milk at other opportunities as well. I like the stuff.
I wouldn't drink it before a ride though... Ugh!

I was reading up on Endurox R4 when I discovered that they're all about the 4:1 carb to protein ratio in Endurox, which also happens to be the Carbrotein ratio in Nesquik... Granted the endurox does have glutamine and a little less fat, but chocolate milk is less than half the price...

Chocolate Milk does the trick. I sometimes fill a glass up with milk and put chocolate powder in it that has zero fat and all the vitamins. Makes for a great breakfast sometimes too.

Ice cold chocolate milk in a steaming hot shower after the ride. What a great finish to hammering out a few miles.

This past month I've been trying Ovaltine after my long Saturday rides & it seems to work pretty good. It sure is cheaper than Endurox! I think I'm a convert.

A non-professional opinion. I wait a few minutes aafter a hard ride before hitting it with something as 'solid' as chocolate milk. Now during a ride one bottle with the Chocolate milk and one with water works. My best double century time was done with enough instant Nestles Qwik added to cold soluable malto-dextrin to make it palatable; 1/3 of a bottle of the mix and the balance with water.

Chocolate milk makes me happy. But I haven't been able to think of any good games that include chocolate milk. And I'm not allowed to have food in the bedroom anymore.

Don't forget to drink your ovaltine!
Not only can I not drink milk, but I also can't drink soy... or rice milk... I'll just rub some nestle quick powder on my lips and hope for the best
