Not a new rider, but new to the area. I moved to Everett almost a year ago. Just got back into biking, and most of my stuff is still in storage, so I've gotten a bit out of shape. I look forward to riding some real hills after being stuck in KS for 7 years.

I live at Plain Washington. It is pretty hard finding a great ride here. I leave my house, ride one mile, then I must go either left or right, both ways are great!!! When the snow leaves in the spring, the riding will get better.

Plain is a great place to ride. We stay in Leavenworth at least once a year and I always try to work in a loop through Plain.

I'm in Central Oregon. Got lots of good riding in while we had a good mild winter with lots of sun. Now with all the rain/snow/slush... sigh. Though today, the blue skies are trying really hard to peek out, so am going to try & get some groceries by bike while the riding's good.

In Bothell, right by the sammamish river trail/burke-gilman where I take the short ride to the Marymoor Velodrome and spin some laps. 49x16 is not good for hills!

Been lurking for a while and I just started posting from Bonney Lake WA. Just got a new 2012 Randonee last week. Been ridding my old 1991 Daimondback Override and I hope to work my way up to doing some touring rides. Most rides now are around 20-40 miles and always seem to be around Sumner, Orting, Buckley & Enumclaw. a lot of my rides include a 500' plus climb and my mile & pace seem to be increasing rapidly. looking fwd to not ridding in the rain so much.

Wow, guess I've not posted in this thread yet. Born in Moses Lake when it still had an Air Force base, after dad retired grew up in Spokane. Moved to Ellensburg (Kittitas as well) for college, only left for 5 years once to live in Coulee City. Moved back to Ellensburg 10+ years ago. I live on a county road that is residential and have great riding from the top of my driveway. I commute with my bike 10 or so months a year, into my second year doing this. I ride for health and recreation. I am also the Scoutmaster for our communities Boy Scout Troops.

I work in the trucking industry and foremerly was a driver. As such I have seen almost every corner of Washington, most of Idaho, some of northern Oregon. We are truely blessed with some stellar scenery in the Pacific Northwest. From ocean beaches to mountians to deserts to dry and irrigated farm land. I wish to travel it all with my bike in the time I have remaining.

Hi all, I'm out in Florence, OR. but originally from Eugene/Springfield (Started in West Eugene, moved out to Walterville area in middle school)

When we lived in West Eugene, I rode EVERYWHERE. I recently went back to my old neighborhood and couldn't believe how far afield I was allowed to go on my bike when I was only about 7-8 years old. One of my favorite "bikeabout" routes ended up 6 miles away from my old house! My folks' philosophy was that if I could get to it and back without getting lost, I was fine. I guess it worked, as I'm still here. Then we moved out east of Springfield (Camp Creek) and there really wasn't any roads I felt comfortable riding on, and I didn't get back on a bike all through high school, college, and beyond.

I started cycling again in the summer of last year after my boss gave me an old Schwinn Tempo she found in her garage, but slacked off and only commuted during the winter. Working on building my miles and bum tolerance back up. I keep trying to get people to ride with, but my schedule is so screwy it hasn't worked yet. (I work graveyards.) And anyone I've been able to find has either been uninterested in anything more than toodling along the sidewalk at 5 mph or so far beyond where I am it's not fair to ask them to ride with me. But at least I enjoy my solo ride time.

My BFF (who got me into cycling in the first place) is going to be coming up to visit this summer, hoping to get some long rides, maybe an overnight trip in while she's here.

i know the feeling ... i work the night shift as well.... i end up getting up early before work and going on rides .. makes for a long tired night ... but sometimes its the only option
