PM me if you feel like taking a ride at some point - I like to do a loop around Manhattan whenever I get a chance (about 30 miles).

I'll be at CP Friday night on my mtb cuz last time I rode the fixie, the ride leader took us through the one section where a mtb is preferrable. Lots of hopping up shallow steps while climbing. See yooz there.

To those leaving from brooklyn, when are you guys heading up there? Would be nice to leave as a group.

Anyone leave from Astoria? Not sure if I'm going to be able to make this CP moonlight ride (sprained ankle)but next month for sure...I'm still trying to figure out the logistics of getting my bike from A to B...

Take 21st St to the 59th St Bridge. Hang a left before the bridge and you'll see the on ramp for bikes. Go across and then make your way to Colombus Circle (Just came back from that actually - windy today!!)

How long ago did you sprain your ankle? I know when I sprained my ankles (both, pretty badly) they would have me ride a bike to strengthen the muscles around the area. The other day I took a bad step that would have done damage but with all the biking I've done it didn't affect it nearly as much.

I sprained it a week ago today I sprained the same one two years ago, so I guess it's really easy to have a recurring injury. Le sigh. I do notice that the more I stretch it out during the day, the better it feels. I'll do a couple of laps in my neighborhood tomorrow afternoon/saturday, and hopefully be up and running for the Prospect ride next Saturday. It's about time I start meeting BFers. (thanks for the directions!)

If you need someone to show you the way across the bridge, I'm either going over the brooklyn bridge into manhattan from brooklyn, or going up to queens and over the 59th street bridge along my commuting route.

Bump! You NYC BF'ers show up tonight! I'll be bringing the fixie cuz I decided I like it more plus I just put new bars on it and want to try them out. If you see me shaking my hands, you'll know why.

Good cause I'm taking the fixie too since its the only bike I got. I'll have someone to walk up the stairs with me cause I don't know how to ride that up yet.

You did ok up most of them. It's easy if you have momentum, but that 90 degree turn on to the bridge and short run up make it hard to carry momentum up the steps and over the rise. Now go get some chain tugs! And if you still want the 38 cm ergo drops, lemme know and I can bring it to PP next week. I'll trade you some bar tape for 'em.

I used up 1 roll of the bar tape literally yesterday taping up some chin up bars I had at work... So I only have 1 roll left. In exchange, I'll take half the ergo bar.

Actually, I might just get the wing bull horns, I need those anyway.

OK. Maybe I'll take the pipe cutter to the 38's and make some chop and flops out of 'em.

He's like a buck fi'ty soaking wet. He doens't have enough mass to really tweak a rim.

(I -- on the other hand -- have my own gravitational field. I can warp a low spoke count rim just walking near it.)

Jyossarian made it sound like stair stairs, the steps are only around 3-4" high.

And buck 50 for my height isn't bad!

Jyo, you bringing your HID again? I wanna go up the huge hill to the lookout, lights are a must.
