If you pass by a house that's the only house on the entire block and is completely pitch black, that's my gf's parents house, run for your lives.

No - but we did pass quite a few waterfalls (a fountain would be smaller) and one with half the outside in marble. Marble. And one with a giant Santa Clause that held a close resemblence to the Burger King in the commercials with Merry-Go-Rounds, dancing reindeer and gay elves. Scary!

Highlite was the bathroom break at Nathan's. Hot dogs. Awesome!

Tonight: Bklyn CM @ 7 pm. Meet at Bklyn side of the Willy B or GAP at PP (I'll actually be in my car running a bike related errand so I can't make it)

Tomorrow (Saturday) night @ 9 pm - Prospect Park Moonlight Ride. Meet at Grand Army Plaza and bring a blinkie and headlight! It's dark in the park!

Did the Moonlight ride go? I thought is was cancelled due to weather. I never did a Times-up ride, but it sounds like fun.

The weather is getting nicer - I went on the last CP ride and it was gorgeous!

Next one is March 31st (Saturday) through Riverside Drive - who's interested? jyossarian?

Are these rides fast? Slow? And do you need lights? I do not have any lights on my bike yet. Can I just tape a flashlight to my handlebars? ha

They're pretty slow, like, 7-8mph at best. You just cruise around.

i'll also try to make it. it sounds pretty fun, and i'm all about fun. i'm new to the city, coming from philly, but i've found that night riding is what i really like here in new york. less cars and pedestrians makes it really nice. i'm also excited for the nice weather particularly for rides out to coney island for shortcake.

so hopefully see people there. i'll be the bearded brown kid.

Oh wait, I meant this sat, riverside.

Last time I went to a CM, we were moving at 4mph and I froze my ass off.

Sweet! I'll be the big fat ass on either a mtb with yellow fenders or black Nishiki roadbike depending on how much dialing I can do to it Will probably be with a friend on blades and another on my black folding bike.

Wow, missed another one! Every time I plan to go, something always comes up and spoils my plans. Eventually, I am gonna get to participate in some of those rides.

So, tell me about the ride, as I have never been to one. Alot of people show up? How many miles? Etc.

Glad you had a good time though.

Aww hell - what do you think was in my Gatorade bottle?

Matty - all the rides are about 10 miles, with regrouping breaks and lasts about two hours. Very leisurely, we hung out on the pier for a bit and chatted too. It was a small group but a nice one, we all had a great time hanging out. This was my first through Riverside Dr (I've ridden it before but not with Times-Up) - we wound up staying mostly in CP but went in areas we didn't go on with I did the CP rides.

i plan on being there again. i hope we can avoid any nasty spots that are due to that repacing of the park drives.
