    12 miles in 15 degrees

Got out for a 12-miler in the Cleveland Metroparks with a fellow insane rider. About half on pavement, half on snow/ice-packed paths.

Rode the CX rig with some Nokian W106 Hakkapeliitta 35C's. Studs are totally worth it.

Never lost control, but did some rear-wheel drifting on downhill turns. Prettay, prettay cold out.

12 miles around town on packed snow/ice with about an inch of fresh powder on top, temperature 14 F, winds 10-20 mph. Winter commuting is a blast!

It's looking good in Indy if you can dodge the rain. On the trainer this morning for a quick ride before work, but will definitely go outside this weekend. Looking forward to the rollers south of Indy. Was able to hit 41 miles in and around Columbus/Brown County last Saturday with my team. Sunday was spent licking my wounds for 20 easy miles on my own... but outside!

The break in the weather came just as my over-use injuries from last fall finally healed....so had 4 glorious easy rides in the last 8 days Only rode 60 miles in total during those 4 rides but it is nice to finally be able to come back to the bike!

Went our for my first ride of the year, besides the trainer. I only managed a meager 16 miles. There were mountains out of the southwest at 10 to 20 mph. At mile 11, I just hit a wall and it was all west bound to get home. Speed plummetted.

Got in 40 miles yesterday (Wednesday). Started ride in far NW corner of Joliet, rode to Oswego, then rode home. Today sucked as the mean demon east-NE wind kept my mileage way down.

Got in about 10 miles back on April 10, when the temperature finally hit shorts-friendly. Completely forgot to post it here, as I built myself a new desktop, and haven't yet migrated my Firefox bookmarks.

Got caught in a cold, light rain a couple miles from the park at the end, but otherwise a very nice ride. Working on the hills in preparation for the Wisconsin Triple Crown. 35 miles at 40º tonight. 5 of us made the ride.

beautiful day in the mid to low 50's.
the wind was blowing hard though and made my ride seem much longer that it was.

A revenge ride for a flooded last weekend...

The previous Sunday i was out for a club ride and the weather suddenly change from a cooling morning to a stormy one... within a few hours flash floods warning goes off and flash flood engulf a few road. i was chilled to the bone... clenching my teeth and cursing as countless car pass by me splashing rain water over my entourage...

after a while we lost formation and the peleton was split up. i manage to stay behind my faithfull friend that i had ride with for 5 years... we finally make it home and i was surprise how much rain water my bike frame can hold inside it's monocoque carbon tube... it took 3 days for the water to dry up inside. Turns out that Sunday's stoem was the worse in 50 years... I was piss... for a week i was restless and itching all over my body for a ride but it continues to rain for a few days...

The break comes Friday evening when finally some blue sky are showing up. i hope on my bike and with 4 riders we head out for a 40km ride down the West Coast Highway putting my aero bar to good use and scale up a hills with 99 cornering turns (popular race ground for the motor gang). Before heading home we had coffee by the coffee shop below the hill and discuss about the coming Sunday ride... we were still skeptical as to whether Sunday will be a sunny side up or a pouring ones...

Anyway... come Sunday i wokeup at 530am in the morning... take my time to prep up my bike, had a shower, ate some breakfast, water proof my mobile phones and my spare tubes, CO2 pump and anything i figure wont survive a heavy downpour... a habit i learn in the Army. As i rode off the sun was just about to rise... i lift up my yellow shade to have a clear look at the sky... blue is good news... i was joined halfway by 2 more riders from the same club... together we ride to the rally point where about 30 riders was gathering up chit chatting waiting for the ride to start off. Had a quick coffee and hear the leader brief us on the route... off we go... the sun was up early and was so bright and sunny... my kind of a Sunday morning ride.

That day (yesterday) we covered 80km in one go... i was smiling ear to ear on the way back home. Tired but fully satisfied... something that money can't buy.

This Friday... 5 of us are planning a 120km night ride.

I rode 25 miles out to Elizabeth Park then turned around and rode 15 miles over to the Ambassador Bridge.

Detroit is such a rat hole. Building after building after building gutted by fire then the rubble left there to add to the marring of the (almost entirely absent) aesthetics of the city. Also, there was nary a soul around. Riding along Jefferson, I felt like that guy from the 28 Days Later movie - the only person left in a completely vacant city.

The next time I ride through Ecorse, River Rouge and Detroit, I'll be packing my .45

I don't suppose you rode behind the Postal Service Distribution Center on your way to the Bridge, did you?

90 miles, Waterford, MI to Richmond, MI. Beautiful ride one way, and VERY wet coming back. Water was still coming out from the frame few days later. Love my new Specialized Infinity Armadillo tires. Perfect tires for dry and wet conditions.

Island Lake Park - mountain bike trial on my Specialized hybrid with 38c commuter/city tires... Couldn't get over sandy hills, and I was sliding little bit in turns, but it was a blast :-) BTW...I choose to take mountain bike trail instead of road to save some time /shortcut/ IL park is pretty nice, but I was lost few times there during my first visit there ... They need to make more signs and better maps.

Went out on my Centry Training Ride this morning, training schedule called for 19 miles today. Nice ride for part of the route I take was close to motor traffic for some reason. They normally don't close that section unless its flooded from rain or it saturday. Very little wind and the rain the weather man said was coming has still not hit, that was a plus.
