I have this in the commuting thread as well. I have a beam rack that attaches to my seatpost. It seemed like a good idea at the time, and has served it's purpose. I am wanting to use it more for getting groceries, and am wondering if anyone has seen attachments to add to one that keeps the panniers out of the wheel or has made their own. This is the rack that I have. I am using it on a Surly Karate Monkey
