Thanks, yeah it was a USPS Trek 5200. Then I took a razor blade, and some sand paper to it. Then re-clear coated it. Those old paint jobs were heavy too. I saved 140g by doing this. My sister's boyfriend is supposed to make me some small "Trek" downtube stickers for it.

You and I have similar thoughts. He acted like I did when people started posting their motorcycles in the hot or not thread.

This is the road bike forum and they are both road bikes, whether setup for triathlons, towpath riding or group rides. One day, Mikey will be a man... Not today though.

Yeah man, as I have stated a dozen times before. You did one hell of a job on that USPS frame. (I still can't believe you would do that to THAT frame as it will one day be worth a FORTUNE.) But it came out beautifully for sure. Are you also going to put your name, signature, or riding alias somewhere on the bike? Like the chain stay or something. When you have a one of a kind, it should be known at least.

Could not resist the locally built, custom made Proctor... bathroom scale says it weighs 20.5 with that boat anchor of a back wheel.

Gotta swap that stem and bars...

    Atala Professionisti

    Hi,
I recently bought an Atala road bike 'professionisti' i think and i was wondering if anyone knows the value, vintage and calibre of it. It is has colombus SLX frame, campag rims and a 105 groupset with a san marco seat and olympic rings handlebars. It feels a bit heavier than it should but after some new tyres, brake levers and grip tape and some cleaning it came up real nice and the ride is lovely. Does anyone know anything about this?
    Cheers!

??It's not hating at all. I was consoling oldnslow2 from the previous post from Sherblock who commented on being tired of hearing about [oldnslow2] brag about his son. It was an apparently poor attempt to do so. I am saying Sherblock as has a point... oldnslow2 was hijacking the thread, only temporarily... and with no harm... but still, I was not attempting to 'Hate, or Eat anyone"

I've got it comfortable but it's not fitted. The shop I bought it from was pitiful. I've got to get humble Tuesday and show up at my regular LBS with a bike he doesn't sell and get him to fit me to the bike. But I've done several 40 mile rides already and its a hoot. Quite the sports car.

I understand. There is quite the back story behind it, but essentially when the bike was being designed and built up, the initial font made it look like it said Manacocque. Since the bike was a one of a kind anyhow, I thought the word manocoque was just funny and a great name for a carbon bike. When the bike was built I had the font changed slightly but had them actually change to mAnocoque for the humor/namesake of the bike.
Feel like it is my sports car, whether it is for any kind of compensation or not, that's always people's first thought. And above anything else, it is definitely the best ice breaker for conversation about the bike. You only further that conclusion.
