Do you attach your Tufos with the Tufo adhesive tape?

i have a tubular gatorskin with regular tufo tape on it right now. that stuff is such a god damned head ache, even compared to using tubular glue.

that wheel has tufo extreme tape. it is stupidly easy to mount a tire with.

I've only ever used Continental rim cement. (I've only ever used Continental tires, for that matter.)

A few of my CX friends swear by the tape, and the Extreme tape is supposed to be ideal for track tires, but I have heard horror stories about the tapes coming apart at their own point of lamination.

How come the Extreme tape is easier than the normal tape?

different materials. regular tufo tape has a flimsy paper backing, and it tears and breaks when you mount the tire on and try to peel it back. the tape itself sticks to itself and rolls inward toward the middle of the rim instead of laying flat against the edges.

conti tires are great! i figured i'd try the S22's because i've been hearing such good reviews on them and i wanted to try a slightly lighter tire.

tufo extreme tape has a plastic backing that peels off in one smooth motion, and the tape itself is an easier to work with compound.

and its supposedly wayyy tackier.

- deda pista bars
- strong g grips

- surly 3/32" cog (until i have enough to replace the chainring with a 1/8 i'm just gonna run 3/32")

as long as it doesn't rain tonight she'll be seeing her (and my) first time at the track. cross your fingers.

I love this bike. It hard to find something that fits a short lady such as myself and this this is perfect.

This is my old bike. Glad to see she has found a good home on the track. I'm in the market if you ever want to sell back

Regarding using the TUFO extreme tape and your carbon ZIPP wheels, have you noticed any issues like I have read about the carbon getting pulled off, etc.? Or has it been pretty straight forward?

are the spacers jingly? you could probably flip it and ditch 3 or 4 of them, but based on the amount of details on the bike, i bet that you know that already. how is the pro3 holding up?

Almost done with this Kiyo Miyazawa frame.

It is all Suntour Superbe with Nitto bars and stem. Almost all NJS, BB and seatpost are not. I am looking for these Suntour Superbe parts if you have them (27.2 seatpost and pretty much any chainring)!

An interesting thing about this bike is that the frame was owned and raced by a Japanese Keirin racer. His name is stamped into the BB shell. It also has Suntour dropouts, so the Suntour drivetrain etc. is pretty cool. Some of the other parts were professionally raced in Japan and were bought from http://njs-keirin.blogspot.com/ which sells keirin race frames and parts that have been professionally raced on the Japanese Keirin circuit.

The Selle Italia saddle looks nice! But for an authentic feel, I also have an NJS Ariake saddle and want to buy a Kashimax with the 30mm rails just for fun. Maybe some red Toshi double straps on the pedals...but again the pedals and straps were raced profesionally which gives this bike an interesting twist.

Any comments?
