I walked her over to Lucce and Amore this am and Lucce was saying "Hi pretty girl" and showing off, Amore was a little cranky but she is usually this way first thing in the morning (but less than usual), and Talouse was cautious and curious which is how she has always been with other birds.

There has been no beak to beak meetings yet and will have to take things very slowly to make sure they get along and there will be no unsupervised play... they are 5 year olds with wings and Talouse knows nothing else but the pet shop so the house is a strange new world for her. Nice thing is that she is so calm and careful in her explorations and that she always seem to check with me before she checks things out.

I don't worry about Lucce being very aggressive as he likes everyone and everything but he could get beat up by Talouse who is bigger than he is by an ounce or two and will see how the girls get along... if they ignore each other that would be fine although Amore might get a little jealous that her boy toy is trying to make friends.

They might be the best of friends, may ignore each other, or at worst... will have to keep them separated and make sure they respect each other's spaces.

Housing arrangement is temporary as I am going to get a bigger / nicer cage for Talouse and place it in the opposite corner of the living room which will put her within 6 feet of the other kids with a line of sight and return the current cage to use as my day cage where the birds can come and sun themselves and forage for the treats I hide for them there.

It also allows a nice clear path for the birds to fly back and forth from one end of the house to the other so they get good exercise and will be letting Talouse keep her wings at her next moult... by then she should be harness trained so I can take her out with me and will see how L&A respond to this... as older birds they may not accept a harness as well as Talouse who is still very young and much more receptive to being handled closely.

Senegals are known to be remarkably intelligent and Talouse seems to be very typical for the species... when I was leaving this morning she was talking to me in parrot speak and as soon as I put on my coat she got quiet and retired to her high perch... she knows that when I put on my jacket I am leaving as she has seen me do this 100's of times already.

Is very nice to have been able to work with her so much before buying her and bringing her home as we know each other... Senegals are also better than many birds when it comes time to be alone which has made them popular with many people who do have jobs and have to be out all day.

Talouse has met my housemate at the pet shop and deemed him worthy of her affection so she should be happy that he is home a good part of the day and is very good with all the birds.

I have been busy tweaking out the computer and she is reminding me it is cuddle time.

Bijoux got her spring clip... she is about 90% done and have done this in smaller stages as she is not the calmest of dogs when it comes to being clipped. I am sure this stems from my ex taking her to a groomers that did not treat her gently.

Since our little Maggie passed away she has become the guardian of the house and she is usually on station in the morning to supervise the front yard and walks.

I love my double dog leash, like yours. It's interesting to see two dogs get into step with each other and walk along. Even dogs that don't know each other.
Now I can understand a sled dog team being controllable.

Me too. They're so used to walking in tandem that they'd probably look at me weird if I'd try walking them the 'normal' way. They know their mushing commands pretty good.

Penny isn't often a good photo subject, but when you've got a liver treat in hand, you've got her full attention.

Talouse is really enjoying her new swingset... the lighter and more chewed up one has been with her since she was a chick.

The beak blocks at the top of the chain are a favourite toy... Senegals have to chew more than many other parrots.

Our baby... she would sleep on her swing set if we let her.
