So here's me in the 2nd week of my workout/diet/biking routine (starting weight 350+) at the F1 race June 2007 in Indianapolis. I'm the one smothering the chair on the left. The second picture is me as of today, September 7,2007. Current weight 258.4.

That don't look like the same guy. Keep up the good work!
I think the big thing in following a diet like this is some discipline in your life. You've got to be able to say no to certain things.

I din;t know if this helps the cause or sets it back 20 years or even what the cause is, but I figure if bigbossman can get away with posting his pics, I can post one of mine.

Me, in all my Clyde-ish glory (6'3", 285 lbs) at the big ol' turnout at the Juniper Campground, roughly 3/4 of the way up Mount Diablo, CA (20 or so air-miles east of Oakland), Aug. 25, 2007.

Very cool. What a wonderful experience for your son, and for you. I'm hoping to send my son on a Youth Exchange next year. Our Club is hosting a Slovakian girl this year, and we have had an incoming student almost every year since the early 90's. We've also shipped out a good number of outbound students over the years. It is a terrific program.

Give me a holler via PM if you're going to be in the Bay Area. We meet Fridays at 7:00 a.m. in Lafayette, about 15 miles or so east of Oakland. No need for the suit and tie, though - we are significantly less formal than that. I'm guessing we're also a tad more rowdy than the Thai Club.

Definitely get the sleeves...the sleeveless are cut so wimpy in the shoulders that it adds little in the way of ventilation and the seams cut into your skin. I had hoped that Cheri could widen the things, but with that material and the way it is put together, she was afraid of ruining the jersey. She was able to widen the cut quite a bit on my alert shirts, but otherwise I stick with my cheap target poly tees for sleeveless.

Thanks for the encouragement!! While I don't get to post here often, I lurk and soak up all the positive affirmation I can. I love this place and can't believe how different my life is today compared to just a few months ago.. My workout partner asked if I felt much better and stronger in the gym and I replied that I wasn't sure. He then put a vest on me that lets you slide weights into it and I put myself back at my "old" weight.. I could barely walk across the gym properly.. For those who have never done it, I think it gives you an excellent quick before/after comparison and recommend you try it.. If you've gained weight on the other hand, you'll have to find a plastic surgeon for a similar quick comparison.. j/k of course...

Talking to a friend today I suddenly realized that the combined weight of the gear, and the bike I toured with this summer, about 37kg in all, was actually slighly less than I've lost off myself in the last 3 years, since I started riding and eating a bit healthier stuff. Felt strange thinking of it like that.
