    Value of this old Zeus??

I was given this Zeus used about 20 years ago. I haven't been riding it for a long time and am planning to get rid of it. But I have no idea of it's value anymore. Parts are Zeus 2000 and Zeus Criterium. I was told that it was of some value 20 years ago when I got it, but have no real clue at this point. I am only an occasional bike rider, and know very little on the technical end. Can anyone tell me whether it's worth putting on ebay or Craig's list,...or is really just a yard sale candidate? I have more pics if that's helpful. Thanks to anyone who can offer me any info on this!

It looks to be in very good shape and I think that you could get a couple of hundred for it on eBay, maybe more. If you are not that technical, get a local bike shop to box it up for you and have their fee reflected in your reserve price.

If the bike fits and you will enjoy even casual use out of it then don't sell it. You will never find a bike with the history of Zeus again if you sell it. If you do try getting one again it will be costly. The sky is the limit with vintage bikes. I would take it to the LBS and have them clean/lube everything and sell it on e-bay if you want top dollar. Expect a fair amount if it is all Zeus components. If you don't need the money I wouldn't sell it.

or send it to me, haha. i agree though, if you will enjoy it, keep it. If not, ebay is by far your best bet.

Thanks for the input. Sounds like ebay is the place if I decide to sell it.

KEEP IT! I had one the same color. I bought it from Kissena Bike shop in Queens NY in the mid 70's. I regret having sold it. I did however, get hold of another Zeus frame that I'm working on. It needs alot of work but this one is a keeper. I'll pass it on to my grandson.DSCN2273..jpg

Zeus 2000 components are really worth something. I wouldn`t sell it nether.
But if you are not that into bikes you should defenatly put it on ebay.
If so, take a lot of good high quality pictures to ad to you auction. This
is very important to sell it for a good price!
I bet you get lots of money for it!

I actually still have this Zeus. Just never got around to selling it. However, I'm now in the midst of a major clean out and this time it has to go, since I am not using it. So if anyone has any further thoughts about the best way/place to sell, or an idea of it's current value, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts. It's in very good condition and I have a number of good pics. So far, ebay seems to be the best bet. Thanks for any input.

+1 Ebay, but you really need to take better pictures. Pictures sell bikes, and top notch pictures get top pricing. Use a hosting site like photobucket or flickr. Good luck with the sale.

I agree. Ebay is probably the best way to go. But take into consideration what shipping (disassembly, packaging, and postage) will cost you. With Craig's list, you probably won't get as much.
But, for the right price, it will go fast. And they pick up. Only deal with cash from Craig's list customers!
Here's the only Zeus I saw on Ebay and it's going for $1,300.00 and is "Local pick-up only".

Been working on mine (below). Since the shot was taken I've put on Campy gear shifters and a red and black Zefal bottle cage. So, it's still a work in progress.
It rides well. I'll probably give it to my grandson but, if he doesn't want, or appreciate it, I might put it up on Craig's list or Ebay at the end of the season.
By the way, it has Wolber '20' tires (27 x 3/4"). Doe's anyone know where I can get anything similar. I bought some 20 x 1" Triathalons off Ebay but the look and ride aren't comparable.
