    Question Blackburn X3 lights

I have been trying to buy a extra light for the X3 system to put on my other bike so I can just move the battery versus have to move the whole kit. So far, this does not seem to be something that Blackburn is willing to sell.

So my question to blackburn, which has been email on several occasions and I have yet to get a response on is, if my light is broken in some way, am I hosed and would my purchase of the light which I really like be a waste of my hard earned money?

If anyone has had any luck in getting a.) a replacement light or b.) purchased a individual light and cable, please let me know.

i just sent in an EP on one & my manager is waiting for a warranty replacement, & we were wondering where they were & we found out from the bell sports rep that they are on backorder. blackburn just doesn't have them in stock. if you need a warranty, just take it to a bell sports dealer & they'll take care of you.... as soon as blackburn has them in stock.

No, don't have an issue with mine, I'm really just trying to buy an extra light so I can move my battery to my second bike, but it then brought up the issue of what if I needed to replace the existing light if something were to happen to it. I have always had excellent results with Blackburn\Bell for email assistance or if I needed something warrantied, but this has really baffled me as why they will not even respond to my email on this.

I had them replace the battery on the X3 , they replaced it with the X6 battery!! I would like the dimmer switch from the X6. Hopefully someone from Blackburn is looking in on this forum and can give a answer.

Blackburn customer service is useless--they don't respond to emails. According to my LBS, they're not much better on the phone (product allegedly in stock doesn't ship, frequent order mixups, slow service in general). I'll never buy another Blackburn product.

Unless they do business under a parent name that I am not aware of, they were not at Interbike. I tried. Perhaps they will respond to my email. Let us know if you hear from them.

Blackburn is now part of Bell Sports.

Hmmm. File this under "too late": I did see Bell helmets at Interbike.

[edit] I have a contact at eastonbellsports.com, so maybe there's hope.

Well, I got a semi-canned response, which I replied to. Apparently, this person only answers email two days a week...

That seems about right. I still haven't heard a word from them. Don't use any more energy on it.

Well, I got an actual response:

We do not sell the lights separately as an accessory and also, the X3 light has been discontinued. If there is ever a problem with the light system, you’re more than welcome to send it in to us and we can see what best we can do from there. If you need to send it in, please let me know. Have a great day!

    Sincerely,

    Sarah

Wow, glad to see their on top of things. At least you got a response. I still haven't hear from them. Oh well. I guess I just stick with the light and replace it once it dies.

I have their X6 lights that I've returned three times to them because the runtimes are not as advertise or the battery was just dead. The light still does not run the 3+ hours they say & I'm tired of dealing with them. I've been meaning to put it on Ebay sometime since it still works somewhat & I have extra accessories from earlier returns. The light themselves were nice, but the battery or maybe electronics on them are subpar.
