I'm wanting to start doing some cycle training to try and increase my cardio-vasular fittness. I was thinking of 3x1hr hill sessions a week before work (I don't have to be in till 10am). Is this a doable goal for a cycling beginner?
I'm wanting to build up my C-V fittness and I've found I can't run regularally due to getting sore right splints.
I'd recommend getting some books and read up. I'm told to go easy, slow, no more than 10% increase in distance per week. Have bike fitted properly by pro. I've started riding again this year after little activity past few years and at 500 miles I decided to do some hill work and now having knee pain. Didn't hurt when I did it, felt great that day. I'm 42, never had anything like this happen before. Been better part of month and still hurting. I'm told by the more experienced and wiser not to do hill work until riding many more miles. Good riding! Mike
