From: Downey, CA.

Bikes: Litespeed Classic (55cm), Specialized Tarmac Pro (56cm)

I have eaten both powerbars and clif bars with no problems. Cereal may be good for a pre-ride meal but you definitely need to consume something during your ride and bars really fit the bill. BTW, make sure frozen power bars have thawed out a bit prior to biting into them. Your teeth will thank you for it.

I wish I owned the company that makes Powerbars.

Other than that, I don't waste money on things I can do myself. Just read the ingredients and nutritional info. You can do better with p'nut butter sandwiches and fruit juice.

And Powerade...

"The most technologically advanced drink ever."

Humbug. Frozen OJ has 10 times the potassium, plus vitamin C (helps rebuild tissue) at a fraction of the cost.

Tastes good too. Just not packaged all cutesy.

Well said Pete. Stuff the ultra-expensive, out of my price range powerbars. I can get something cheaper, with more carbs (and tasting better) at my local bakery.
