well, i've been riding trails for about a year now, and i'm really interested in racing. How do i start? does your bike need to pass certain regulations? how old do u have to be? who can i ask around my town to get started? etc...

Hmm... I'm assuming that the Candian scene is the same as the American scene. But basically just look around on the internet for some local clubs/riding groups and look for the nearest race. There are different classes from beginner to professional for all age groups. Just enter, pay your fees, and ride. There wasn't a bike inspection at my first race or anything, and I'm sure there's no age limits either. I'd pick a beginner race and ride on![]()
My money pits:
Cannondale Jekyll 500 with Avid Mechs and Sun DS2 rims with XT disc hubs.
Cannondale F900 with SRAM XO shifters/derailler, Mavic X3.1 tubeless wheels, Avid Mechs, Race Face Next LP cranks, Time ATAC pedals, SRAM levers.

Check out this web page. I found while surfing the UCI webpage.
there are no bike regulations, and xc racing, is really laid back so you wont have any trouble signing up and racing. have fun.
