    Eraserhead

Has anyone seen this film? It's David Lynch's debut work from film school.

Does anyone have any of their own interpretation of it? I accept that many experimental films like this are more about film technique and lighting but there has to be some kind of meaning to the story. It's just not fair if there's no meaning at all to the story.

My interpretation is that Eraserhead was semi-normal looking from his own perspective and only the audience could see that too. That's why everyone in the film looked at him funny. In reality he looked like his creepy little son. I think. I don't know. Does this make sense? Such an insane movie and apparantly, very very hard to find on dvd.

I never even got that much from the film!! I saw it when I attended art school-it was recommended. I'm still not sure why...

I had to stop watching when the fetuses started dropping on the stage where the girl was dancing. Don't know what the F*** it means, but I got a couple laughs out of it.

I enjoyed Blue Velvet, also directed by David Lynch. Unlike Eraserhead, this one had a plot you could follow. Dennis Hopper does a great job as Frank Booth. I also enjoyed Repo Man. Not a Lynch movie, just a quirky underground flick which came out about the same time as Eraserhead.
