We've had a few fine days between the monsoons. Most roads have been closed by flood waters for some time. Saturday, I rode into town (8k), picked up Horst and Chris and we rode a 41k circuit of the Tully Valley. They ride Cannondale road bikes and I have a recumbent tourer which they refer to as my "Recalciterant". Of cause in non cycle company, folks think this is the real handle. The cane fields have grown a couple of metres during the last monsoon/cyclone so riding round here is like passing green-walled avenues. It is very hot and humid so riding early/late is good.

Today, nowhere. I've had bronchitis for the last four days. Hopefully I can do something tomorrow.

Marriners Run will definitely get ridden again
Last time I was there, we rode most of the Yaughter Northern trails in the one day. I have not been riding much lately, so might have to be selective of what to ride.
The ring road is another bonus, makes it just that bit closer to home.
So, who is in?

From the Gold Coast to Hell's Hole at Mt Jerusalem National Park and back. 144km return, two mountain climbs and a big chunk on dirt roads. Lovely!

Well, it wasn't today, but last weekend I took advantage of a long weekend to ride to Byron Bay and Ballina, before heading inland to Minyon Falls in Nightcap National Park, then cutting back through Mullumbimby, Mt Jerusalem National Park, Murwillumbah, Tomewin and home. A great way to spend a weekend.
