Charlie Brown, hands down. For one thing, it is the only Christmas Special of the three that includes a reading of the Christmas Gospel from Luke. For another, the soundtrack is the greatest. I was listening to Vince Guaraldi's A Charlie Brown Christmas this afternoon. The music holds up apart from the TV show, and is bearable even in July.

But also...
Little Drummer Boy-I still cry when Baba the sheep gets hit by that SOB chariot driver!
The Homecoming... The Walton's classic that was their TV pilot. I know, it's not animated but it's still fantastic!!
Gotta be Charlie Brown. Soundtrack rocks! I always found the Rudolph one a bit creepy...
Definitely Charlie Brown. Classic jazz from Vince Guaraldi, the funky dance when they're supposed to be rehearsing, subtly cynical dialogue ("I never get what I really want...real estate."), and Linus reciting Luke.
Nothing else comes close.

Great minds think alike! I can't get enough of Ralphie (or Dad) such a great movie and the CB special still makes me laugh (the others are good but are made more for kids)Originally Posted by lotek
I just heard an interesting piece on National Public Radio. Robert Wilonsky, a critic for the Dallas Observer, and a self-described "Hebrew," explains why A Charlie Brown Christmas is the best holiday special.
The audio hasn't been posted on NPR's website yet (December 12, 1:00 PM Central Time) but should be up in about an hour. Check it out.

The Red Ryder holds 200 bbs. I know I own one, and I have not shot my eye out.The best Christmas special is A Charlie Brown Christmas. It has memorable music and it tells the true story of Christ Mas. It is a true classic . Joy to the world a saviour has been born in Bethlehem.Originally Posted by lotek
