I think the older ones came with a threaded stem/headset/fork and the newer ones (recent shipment) came with threadless

    After some riding I did
    1. the rotafixa on my rear cog the tightened the lockring (I thought I was too much of a fat boy at first)
    2. tighten the left crank arm which came loose afte 15 miles non-stop,
    3. had to adjust the toe clips,
    4. my rear wheel is slightly out of true
    5. I now need to tighten the chain

Other than that, just looking at it makes me want to ride. I just came from riding through 2 boroughs for no reason.

Give me a few days til my wheels get here, and I'll post a picture of my newly painted setup. It's basically stock except the wheels/pedals

I enjoy my threadless. My brother has a threaded stem on his bike and it was a pain in the ass to attempt to fix when it started getting loose. No need for any tool besides an allen wrench to adjust mine

Though not finished with it yet (will powder coat bronze, and some new pedals, handlebars etc). Used mainly for commuting or just going around in town in general.

Did you repaint yours white? or was yours a version that had removable vinyl stickers? Because mine are, as far as I can tell, not removable

I sanded them off, carefully for the most part. But in person and close up you can tell where the finishes are different from the sanded basecoat and the original clearcoat.

    Details!

Also, which fork & headset did you go with?

    Thanks!

Ah, if it's going to be that much trouble, I'll probably strip the bike and have it painted a nicer white color and then protect it w/ 3m film on the main tubes

I spent probably too much time sanding (almost a waste since I'll get it blasted and coated within a month). I used a 100 grit to go through the clearcoat, then switched to a 220 to sand the decals off. If I had to do it again I would try some lacquer thinner or something after the clear coat to see if I could peel the whole decal off. Oh and then I finished it off with 600 grit for smoothness. I'm out of town and away from my bike, so not able to get better photos.

The fork I have on there is a Nashbar 1" threadless carbon fork, with a cane creek c-1 headset and a 3t mutant 1" stem.

The Nashbar fork you have has a slightly different rake than the stock Windsor, right? Did you notice a difference in steering feel or how the bike handles?

I can't say for sure right now, but over the next week I'll try to get a head to head comparison with my friend's windsor hour with the stock fork (same frame size).

I love bikes without decals. I wanted to remove the decals from my Windsor when I received it but then realized it was under the clearcoat. I didn't want to sand down the clear and have parts not match others.

I want to switch to a threadless but am weary of what to do/get/performance

my bb still rides well, I think I just got kinda lucky, it does creak a little, Im sure I will change it out sooner than later

For those of you who think your BB is creaking, check other things, especially your crank arms. I find my left one comes loose after a while of riding.

I'm going to powdercoat my frame Incredible Hulk green like this Soma Rush, keeping the other components black. Maybe some black & green Soma Thick & Zesty bar tape on my Soma 456 drops. I'm also thinking of going with a carbon fork & threadless headset.

Ya, it's going to be hotness, especially since I'm getting a black carbon fork.

I can OD with this saddle:

I picked an Hour recently to be my beater/errands bike. It's my first fixed gear and love it so far. I thought the gearing (48/16, as according to BD's site) was kind of heavy, especially going up a couple hills here in Jersey City. The other day I took off the rear wheel to tighten the lockring and discovered they shipped my bike with a 15T cog! That's 86 gear inches! No wonder I can't skid!

no way really? That's weird haha...Mine definitely came with a 16T.

You definitely need to tighten the cog and lockring though from when it's shipped. I would also recommend swapping to 17T...Awesome ratio IMO
