    The Thompsons.

Oops I really meant the Simpsons . I must have been thinking of that episode where they entered the witness protection program and changed their names. I consider that episode to be a homage to Cape Fear with Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum. They do a lot of take offs on other show and movies. I consider the simpsons to be some of the best written comedy on TV. Now I will stand back and weather the inevitable criticism. What is your favorite episode?P.s I do not think Kids should watch it they tend to want to be like Bart.

Criticism for liking the Simpsons? Naaaa. I believe my favorite episode is either with Mr. "Grimey" Grimes, The Burlesque House, the episode with the chili cookoff, the one where Lisa cheated on the test, or the softball episode (Homer scratching himself on the bench makes the whole episode worth it).
Does the perfect bike really exist?

Awesome show. The chili cookoff ranks right up there with the best of them - very funny stuff. I've seen most episodes at least 2 or 3 times, and always manage to pick up some new hilarious line or image.

Wha? I can't think of many people that'd argue against you there, dude. It's the last bastion of American satire and I hope it runs for many more years to come. Regarding the actors pay demands, I say pay 'em whatever they're asking. They're worth it.

Favourite episode - hard to pin it down to one, but the one where Bart sparked an international incident with Australia springs to mind (shame about the atrocious Australian accents though)

    Thank Paul Hogan for that.

One of the better episodes: When Jay Sherman, from "The Critic," came to Springfield to judge the film awards. Sr. Spielbergo, George C. Scott getting a football in the groin, man....I was rollin. Close second: The Fighting Hellfish.

My favorite episode occurs around Year 4.

    Homer is having heart problems.

Burns and Smithers watch him eat donuts over the surveillance camera.

Burns: "That's right, keep eating, little do you know you are drawing closer to the poison donut. There is a poison donut, isn't there Smithers?"

Smithers: "Sir, I spoke to our lawyers, and they said it would be murder."

    Burns: "Damn their oily hides!"

Later Homer dies in Burns' office, but comes back from the dead to get a free ham.

Also, Homer uses hand puppets to explain a coronary artery bypass graft to Bart and Lisa, and Dr. Nick Riviera completes the operation with Lisa's assistance. Also great scenes with Krusty explaining his community service for a hit & run accident, and Apu suggesting snacks to his customers.

Almost forgot that the episode opens with Homer in bed eating a turkey, a pizza, etc. while watching an episode of "Cops". It's about the Springfield cops, and the song goes:

Springfield cops are on the take,
but what do you expect for the money they make?
Whether in a car or on a horse,
they don't mind using excessive force.

    Bad cops, bad cops.
    Bad cops, bad cops.

The best episode has to be Homer vs. New York...may great lines

Moe talking to his customers at the bar: "Listen up, guys. The Springfield Police have told me that ninety one percent of all traffic accidents are causes by you six guys."

Barney: "All I can remember about the last two months is giving a guest lecture at
Villanova. Or maybe that was a street corner..."

Bart while in the crown of the statue of liberty: "Hey, immigrants! Beat it! Country's full!"
Sailor: "OK people, you heard the lady. Back into the hold. We'll try Canada."

Homer talking to the street vendor:
"Can you go across the street and get me a pizza?"
Vendor: "No pizza, only Krau Kalash"
Later after eating the Krau Kalash...
H: "That was disgusting, have anything to drink?"
V: "Only crab juice...and mountain dew"
H: "Ewwwwww.............i'll take the crab juice"

And here I thought you were talking about The Thompson Twins, who later changed their name to The Thompsons. They were one of the early techno-pop groups from the late 80's.
