Lots of good stuff here, but alot of discontinued stuff. Anything new in the Beefcake HT world?

Kinda looks like Norco has thrown in the towel on "Shore Hardtails". They have a few Urban/Park bikes.

    Kona has something weird:

Honzo... a balls-out, aggressive all-mountain 29er Cromoly hardtail. Featuring a beyond-vogue slack 68-degree headtube angle, low bottom bracket and short chainstays, the Honzo is all about getting radical on technical singletrack

Interesting, I moved about three years ago and the trails are better where I am but a lot further from home. The local bmx track has been looking good, but I dont have bike that could handle it, any of these would fit the bill. The Konas' look good, I'm new to this game so it'll be a factory bike not a home build. Any ideas for cheap factory built bikes focused on dirt jumping?
    Mmmmmm, shiney.

I'll take a look, I thought they came in short and long frames? Shipping will probably kill the deal.

Cyclops, if you can, try out both a DJ and an AMHT. There are some significant difference in ride characteristics. I prefer the DJ for the BMX track and the AMHT for the trail, personally. With my bikes, the AMHT has a HT angle that rivals a lot of downhill bikes, 160mm travel fork, 2x8 drivetrain, a high BB, and 26" wheels. The DJ has a HT angle on par with my road bike (just figured this out when I was Photoshopping drop bars on it for the Post your Rigs topic), full rigid, SS, a lower BB, and 24" wheels. Among other differences. Obviously these characteristics will change from bike to bike, and the differences end up pronounced on the two particular bikes I compared, but that's how it is with my bikes anyway. Of course, a DJ1 or Argyle on the AMHT on both bikes or having a 26" DJ would bring the rides significantly closer.
