I did. It was tough to watch but I knew it had a happy ending so I didn't mind so much.Originally Posted by Sweetness

Was it well worth it? (the story obviously, but speaking cinematically)
I'm going to see it tonight.![]()
Hello moto
Argh! Everyone gets to see it before me.heh..I hope you like it, let me know your thoughts.
It was one of the craziest movies i have ever seen. It was good and i dont think it was too graphic. VERY GOOD!
I am Signature-less

after experiencing the movie on opening day and all the subsequent intelligent, educated commentary from various religious sects i find more and more disturbing textures to the movie. from the music to when and how the 'devil' appears to him to the liberties mel took in creating the evil counterpart in his viewpoint.
just remember, it is not a documentary, not a scholarly interpretation. it is a hollywood movie. and if you note that jesus lost more blood in the movie than a human has then you can see the over-the-top hollywood style in action.
all in all an intense movie. there is little story telling, so the director assumes you know the players intimately.
but don't worry sweetness, it isn't as religiously intense as buckeye football.
I have enough words to get me into trouble, but not enough to get me out of trouble.
Yeah, saw it last night. Seeing it sure gets the point across.
Hello moto
What point? I'm not being fractious, I want to know.Originally Posted by kewlrunningz

You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. That's great...if you want to attract vermin.
Weren't too many people when I went. By "point" I mean Gibson did a good job of conveying what happened in the final hours. Unfortunately all the media is concerned with is how much money it has made and the controversey...go figure.
Hello moto
I thought it was well made, very intense... pretty graphic, but not as graphic as I was led to believe... more blood and gore in "Kill Bill" than in "The Passion"
I'd recommend it... just don;t take kids... I must have had a dozen 8 year olds in there... stupid parents

Well, in that case,it's no different from any other hollywood film. I doubt that Mel Gibson made it without the intent of profiting from it. It's still a business.Originally Posted by kewlrunningz

Wooohoo! I finally saw it& I liked it very much. You are right, there wasn't nearly as much blood as some of the critics portrayed it to have. I have never heard a movie theater so quiet in all of my life. I like the fact that there were no opening credits, or previews. The theater we were in actually drew curtains open also...
Did ya'll make the correlation to the table in the movie? And the drop at the end? Insightful![]()

Remember the table he was crafting, you know, the tall one? Did you see it later on in the movie? During the "punishment", the table that the weapons laid upon.Originally Posted by SipperPhoto
And the latter... the drop at the end of the movie. The single "rain" drop from above?A tear..
I actually didn't notice the table myself, someone pointed it out to me. But going back & reviewing still photos from the movie, sure enough!
ahhh I did not notice that... that is pretty interesting...
I dug the rain drop effect... well done... good symbolism...

If we learn from our mistakes, I must be a goddamn genius.
I probably won't see this movie unless I can rent it for a dollar, only because I don't really see much in Mel Gibson's directing.Originally Posted by Allister

But making a huge cash profit from it is ok?Originally Posted by don d.
Besides, the article has less to do with the life of Christ than it does with the brouhaha surrounding the current film about him.
