Last year's time at the Mt. Diablo Challenge was 1:22
I've only recorded a few times:
OLH - Roughly 25 minutes. Not exact on that time.
Hamilton: 1hr 50min
Cannot remember everything...
Kings: I think like 25-26 min (I forgot though)
SB Mtn (Race 1/1/09): 19:33
Quimby (LKHC 08): 27:52
Bear Gulch W (LKHC 08): 22:49
Diablo (SG): 77:30
Hamilton (LKHC 08): 109:09
Alright- another PR for me! San Bruno in 25:10. Ok, it was my first time doing it, so a PR was virtually guaranteed, but it was still great to take a whack at one of the local favorites that I'd never ridden. Thanks to Beaker for showing me the route!
Dang, it was good to get out first thing given all the wet weather we've had of late -- just think how fast that climb would have been if there hadn't been all that water on the road and we'd not been wearing all those layers (oh yes, the BF KOM angst starts here).
Just saw a thing where the retired USPS cyclist Dylan Casey did OLH in 16 minutes.
I think we only need to list BFers' PRs in this thread.
I tried Mix Canyon today, cramped up at 3.1 miles in. I bailed and did Cantelow and Steiger. I will post a time next time I make it all the way up.
What gearing were you using for Mix? If Vaughters was using a 38x28 what do us mortals need to consider? Could be time for an Ultimate Climber bike...
Mix Canyon, 2007: 76 minutes. I hope I have improved since then. I didn't time my self recently.
I broke a personal record Friday on Diablo. Shooting for the hour mark from Athenian school, I made it in 60'24". So close! My previous best was 62'40" so that's a good improvement.. I was wasted from this effort, but was determined to climb the mountain twice. I suffered back up from North Gate road in 81'45". Legs were kinda sore today.
As for Mix, I think my best is in the high 40 minutes. I've done it on a triple (stopping several times), but now I have a compact 34-27 setup - and I haven't had to stop yet.

On Tuesday I timed myself up Montebello for the first time and clocked in at 41:20. I wasn't going for a PR and really had no idea what it to expect. But suddenly I want to shoot for breaking 40 minutes.
Tonight I did Crestview from the south side in about 11:10. Again I wasn't really trying for a pr but rather to establish a time to beat in the future.
Got a personal best today. My regular climb 2.7 mile ~6% climb to the top of Twin Peaks in San Francisco. I hit all the lights (three of them) and made it in 00:18:20. It wasn't even all that hard; the trick for me was pacing myself so that I could push myself harder on the (relative) flats.
I've also been finding that sitting and spinning (in the saddle) helps build stronger muscles for the flats; standing builds more the muscles for... well, standing.
☼ < ? 180 ---*----- 200 --------- 210 --------- 220 --------- < ... (no comment)
Hamilton(quimby to observatory): 3:01 my first time
First time up OLH, 31 minutes dead. Damn, I was hoping for sub-30.
Oh well, next time.
New PR on Montebello. High effort, but I did lift yesterday... Next time I'll push for ~37:59.
no data for other hills (so far).
Cat-O-Meter: where do I get mine?
