You can tell the way the palm trees are bent, how hard the wind is blowing!

To my mind, a meeting to decide how far to ride in the wind should be held outside...

Great photos, great story, looks like lots of fun. See any alligators?

Sweet pictures, and it does look like fun... A good ol' squad of almost everything two and three wheeled suited for touring. Very cool

No Gators, was 42* when we woke the next morning.

Four riders had just come in from Cuero, that is where they gave up the day before.
They had stronger winds 28 to 41 mph Headwinds for 34 miles.
Dave said it was the most difficult ride he had made in 20 years.

Police Escort behind us here.

Dave and Roy; Dave's Rear Tire has 11,500 miles on it.

Motel Camping in Port Lavaca and in Bay City:

Loved the pictures, especially the one of Goliad, where my late wife's great uncle is commemorated on the Battleground memorial. I must ride the bike down there one day. Sounds like you had a terrific ride. Chip seal isn't the greatest, but I'd rather have it than broken concrete!

John, in Austin.

Cool! Been there, although not on a bike. Nice park, always enjoy the George Observatory. But I suspect I might not get back for a while since my mom moved away from Sugar Land.

Great ride, fantastic pictures. My late first wife's uncle lies somewhere on the Goliad "battle" field - George M. Gilland, listed on the monument to Fannin's brigade. The place holds a special poignance for me and I really loved the pictures.

The Goliad camp manager said that we were the First Ever bicycle group to ride and camp there.
I have a bunch more pics. Guess I need to add them to Photobucket.

Here is our 600 Mile ride to The Birth Place of Texas.
11 days and 10 nights.
