San Bruno Mtn Ride 04/24
UPDATED UPDATE _ 4:30PM START on FRI 24TH APRIL
Here's the new route (couple of laps of this or so):
https://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/BF-SanBrunoMtn (I modified the route that Pelikan posted)
The startpoint is here - PM me for contact details.
We'll run the mellow/BlastRadius route another time
https://www.mapmyride.com/route/us/ca...24042173687815
So who's in:
Beaker
mellum76
spingineer
pelikan
So following on from the "What do you like for your ride thread", seems like there could be some interest in a weekday ride up San Bruno Mtn. Since I work nearby, I could try to co-ordinate something. I suggest an end of the afternoon start - say a 4:30 or 5pm.
Two questions -
1) who'd be interested?
2) my normal route takes me out past the Brisbane lagoon and up Guadalupe Canyon and back. Can anyone suggest a better/longer/more interesting route? I could be interested in making this a couple of hours.

I could do 04/24, but 04/17 would be a no-no for me.
Who else?

If it were 4/13 or 4/14, I'd be all for it. Maybe I'll just do it anyways. Otherwise, if you do it on the weekend, I'm all down for that too.

I think I'd look at the following week - 04/24, perhaps start from the little mall in Brisbane, looks like a good bet.
I was originally just pinging BlastRadius to see if he wanted to catch a local ride - so I'm still interested to see if any of the peninsula old guard could recommend a way to get this into a 2-3hr ride? Once we're up the top of the mountain, are there any other good routes - say to the coast or perhaps into the city?
Apologies for the wishy-washy half-arsedness of this, but what the heck, perhaps we get an interesting ride out of all this.

There is a great route that Pete showed me to get to the Great Highway through Daly City. We can go through GGP and the Mission out to 3rd St and head back south along Bayshore. Maybe even stop at Zeitgeist for a Niman Ranch burger.

That's my backyard, but sadly neither date works for me. For some nice extra miles go down bayshore then right on twin cities blvd. It will take you around sum to other side of Guadalupe. The route is posted in the ronde thread.

You beat me to it -- yes, I'm still thinking of doing this.
I suggest we start at 4:30pm from the Brisbane mall (directions to follow later)
Henry, do you have a bikely or other description for the other part of the ride? I'm guessing that we should have ~3hrs of daylight here.

I might be in, but I'll be going slow due to DMD the next day. I might have to cancel, I'll see how it goes that day with errands, etc...

I used to do San Bruno Mtn., then head west on Eastmoor to Skyline, down Skyline, north Ocean Beach, pass the Cliffhouse, 34th pass the Legion of Honors, down and up into the Presidio, head back South on Arguello, into GGP, out near 4th Ave, East on Parnassus, up this service road behind UCSF, left Claredon, right up to Twin Peaks. From here I would head home back into the sunset or you can head back towards the SB Mtn. by going down O'shaunessy, Bosworth, Silver, San Bruno Ave.
Was my city loop. Might be a lot of traffic depending on the time of week/day.

Bumpity bump.
Not sure who's in at this point, can you reconfirm to me if you are? This looks like a nicely laid back ride with a built in stop for food. I'd appreciate someone who knows the city coming along for this, as my ability to navigate SF on a bike is sketchy at best (- Pete are you there?!)
If you're in can you confirm for me today/Thursday?
