I have just finished building this bike and would like to sell it and concentrate on other projects.
I can ship worldwide no problem and i always send my bikes packaged securely and insured with tracking.
I always send my bikes fully dismantled and so obviously good mechanical knowledge is required to rebuild it.
So this bike appears to be from around the 1940s and has some interesting features.
It is 700 wheel size and has Jeay brakes which are normally used on 650B size wheels.
It has no braze ons for a front rack and behind the bottom bracket there is no hole to fit a fender.
Also it has vertical dropouts and a very unusual Huret derailleur hanger dropout combo.
On the front fork it has a stamp which say "STAR" and after a quick research found this to be the name of the tubing.
It seems to have a race style geometry but overall looks like a Cyclosportif which is like a fast version of a randonneur.
I'm not sure which type of fenders it would of had originally but the back would of clamped over the chainstay bridge similar to how a Bluemel fender fits.
It is fitted with what appears to be a Huret Tour de France group with the gear levers being a twin sided affair.
It comes with an AD-HOC Speciale Professional pump and a very nice bottle holder? the aluminium bottle is a reproduction one that i have used.
It has a period Brooks saddle and very nice stem/handlebars.
The hubs are Exceltoo Super Competition and the rims are Mavic but more modern ( 1970s i think )
Size is 56.5 cm centre to centre.
The headset appears to be the very rare Specialites TA one but without the engraving.
Crankset is a Stronglight Competition in steel and pedals are Lyotard flat aluminium ones.
The paintwork is not original but is nicely done although there are some scratches here and there.
Overall the patina of the bike is pleasing to the eye.
One of the rear wingnuts is not original and the tyres need replacing.
The condition in my mind is good for a bike of this age but please study the photos to see if you agree!
I would like 800 euros for this bike including insured and tracked shipping.
