I'm very new to bikes, and wanted to build a fixie from a vintage frame (love the looks), I picked up this frame and fork for 50$
It's a Centurion early 70's, guy I bought it off said it was a Le Mans. Once I got it home I realized the bottom bracket cup on the drive side was in on an angle and never removed. After some love taps from a hammer I managed to remove it. I bought a sealed 68X103mm English threaded new from my LBS, I realize that the threads are pretty buggered up, so I plan to get it retapped, they charge 20$, which seems fair. Need some help overall and would love some opinions. Is my frame *****? All measurements ****ed up? Hard to find new parts that fit?
I am planning to paint.
Things that worry me:
My BB length measured 70.77mm. Will the 68mm fit? (maybe just the paint?)
My front forks width is small for most 700c rims. stretch it myself? Then get it realigned?
Was planning to buy a new headset (black), how do I measure fork/frame/old headset, to determine the size I need?
It's 2am and my writing is probably horrid. Here's a bunch of pics!
