I was telling someone earlier that the Surly Nate throws big mud like truck tire mud not little bike tire mud. Sadly riding when it is muddy here is like spreading anthrax same consequences.

1987 Schwinn World Sport
Many others, gone but not forgotten.
the 29er. Taking it for the first ride tomorrow

^Oh no you drank two of the three worst Kool-Aids! (just need to make it fully rigid to get all three)
Seriously though, looks super nice!

2011 Trek Mamba, upgraded everything except the FD and brakes.
Lol, yeah I drank the Kool Aid. Took it for the first ride today and had a total blast. Will post some footage later. And funny you mention full rigid. Actually stripped most the components that are on the speci from a 9er full rigid that I picked up. Will be saving that frame and fork for a rainy day. Im thinking single speed.

I don't know what's gotten into me but for some reason I've had my eye on a few fully rigid SS bikes latelyStill no 29ers because I haven't found a 29er yet that doesn't feel awkward to me, but if I were to find one that felt right then I might just give into every single MTB fad available. Fortunately my low income & wide expanse of expensive hobbies keeps my wallet light enough to prevent me from getting anymore bikes

Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness.
Picked up my Blur about a month ago. Forgive the crappy office picture.

heres a couple pics of my steed, a 03 GT Avalanche 3.0 ive just pulled her out of storage after a 4 year hibernation. Several things need attention, new tires, brakes, and some serious upgrades. Ive been out of the game for awhile and would appreciate some advice on upgrades to my rig. I know i want to go to disc brakes, a decent wheelset, upgraded drivetrain etc. Hope yall like the pics.
03 GT Avalanche 3.0-owned since new, some mods, some road rash. In the midst of upgrades
07 home built chopper-9' long 5 ft tall at the grips. in the middle of a refurbish. Repairing road rash, rust and a blown up rear tire.
02 Walmart Next drug dealer full suspension chopped and raked. 12 feet total black iron pipe forks, weighs just under 90 lb.
several projects in various states of construction-decontruction
What is your budget for upgrades and such. I came across these last night. And with the extra 17% they come out to about $112-$115 before shipping. http://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Product...0052_533586_-1
Disc brakes, you can never go wrong with avid Juicy's or anything Hydraulic really.
Tires you will figure out to suit your needs.
12' SuperiorLite SL Pro w/ Sram Rival | 10' SuperiorLite SL Club w/ Sram Force | 06' Giant FCR (Dropbar) w/ Shimano 5700 | 10' GT Avalanche 3.0 Disc
budget depends on the parts, i want to keep the total build less than the price of a 2012 model year version of my bike, so about 900 total is what i want to keep to. Tires i plan to stick with the Panaracers i have on it now, well the front anyway. I destroyed the one i had on the rear already. I wont lie though, the Red wall panaracers are mostly aesthetic although they have always performed very well albiet a little loud on the road. Those rims look like a good deal. Im also going to talk with my LBS, the owner has been taking care of my bikes for over 10 years now, so he can usually find me some pretty good deals too.
