I've owned several Rock Shox products and they just don't seem to have the durability of other brands. I own a 2001 Psylo and it's a great fork, but the lowers developed a lot of play in NOT a lot of time. Yes, they did have problems and the 2002's had better bushings. Yes, I could replace them and I should, but I put them on my beater bike and don't worry about them.
If you're into DJing, I'd stick with a coil sprung fork. I'd also look into Marzocchi Products. They have a line specific for DJing called their DJ I, II and III. Crazy name I know. Who would have figured.
Also Manitou has been pumping out some great product lately. I don't own one, but have ridden my buddies Sherman and it's a great solid fork.

I have the DJ II's on my X3 and its a great fork. You should consider investing in one!Originally Posted by a2psyklnut
20mm axle is nice on the front too.
Also known as the QR20. I think there is an option for that on the DJ II , and I know there's an option for it on the DJ I . Check out the Marz. Z1 line too.

Yeah mt DJ II's have QR20!![]()
psylos are good except they can snap easily. i recomend marzocchi djer's (pref 2003). or you could just buy my bike which is perfect for bombin the street, trails and dj's
Dude, go for the Sherman Jumper. 80mm jumping fork, hella stiff, badass dampening, true hex-thruaxel.....no qr20 crap that you can break...
I say go for a marzocchi dirt jumper I or a II if its too expensive (Marzocchi DJ-2 6" travel Q/R 20). They are pretty good fork that I really like for dirt jumping. Not the greatest for Street but pretty good for DJ. You can check those out on their site or the 2004 Norco Rampage (shore hardtail) has this fork...
you can check it out at

DH and Street riding ...SINGLESPEED... so much better for so little. Take a look at this alternative if u have problems related to your chain, derailer, cogs, or chain coming off...
6 inches? what are you talking about? the DJ series has 100mm travel which is 4 inches.

Pin it baby!
Marzocchi made an oem Dirtjumper 2 for the Specialized Big Hit that had 6" of travel.Originally Posted by Dirtbike

yeh i hav a specialized p.2 jump set up with the same bashringmashupgearing down below... the mass produced marazocchi sausage, rebound no good (only jumpable for like kerbs and 1 footers) was chucked straight away.... i first got a bomber but then opted for a DJ2
I have Dirt Jumpers III and I love them. Great for jumping and some decent drops. Street they are a little heavy but they dont really bother me, it dont take much to adapt.
