than you've ever seen her), i rate double indemnity a 9.5-the big sleep is a 10.
holy grail is a 9-9.5. grail is in my top comedies of all time along with
young frankenstein, some like it hot, trading places, life of brian,
dr. strangelove, raising arizona, indiscreet & ferris bueller's day off.
i remember seeing the trailer and have a loose recollection of what they were all about.
it looked interesting. do you recommend it for those interested in anarchy/revolutionary
groups from the disillusioned 70's?

this coen bros. movie. i give it an 8.5
buffalo 66-so bad it's good. sometimes, unintentional funny
is the best kind of funny there is. you'll either love it
or hate it. vincent gallo's character is so unlovable and
confused it's like watching a train wreck; you don't want to look
but you feel compelled. watching it a second time, especially
if you feel your time was completely wasted the first time, may
improve your rating-or not. either a 3 or an 8.5, can't decide...
Since Empire of the Sun? Wow...that's harsh. I thought he did great in The Prestige a few years ago.
OK...this weekend I saw Amelia. It's the new movie about Amelia Earhart, played by Hillary Swank. Not that great. I really expected more from this movie. They focused too much on mundane parts of the story (like raising money to support big flights) and less time on the momentous flights themselves. There was also a lot of bad camera work in the movie....many scenes that were partially out of focus. I will say that Richard Gere did much better than usual....in the fact that I didn't HATE his character like I usually do.
I'd probably give it 2 out of 5 stars.

saw the professional again with jean reno, natalie portman, danny aiello
& gary oldman. oldman is his usual crazy self which is just fine with me.
i want to give it a 9 but i just can't. 8.5

Multi-screen docu-drama of alien abduction in Nome, Alaska features hypno-therapy sessions displayed next to "actual" footage. "Real" audio of alien voices will give you the shivers. Movie goers who research the subject may come up short on these reported cases. Cheesy disclaimers at top and bottom of film dilute
the movie.

Hmm, I only saw it once when it came out. I was just in it to see if there was any Cristina Ricci nudity, but noooo. So I gave it 2 out of 5 stars.

Yup, I saw it. Twice so far, too. The grooves are just so damn hot that I can't get them out of my head.
It's as close to a concert film as you're gonna get. You can tell when he's conserving his voice -- these were rehearsals, after all, and you can trust him to nail it when it's showtime. You also briefly meet the musicians and some of the dancers (they're all st00pid good), see some filming of the music videos and footage for the onstage screen, and small bits of creating new music changes. They're also still adjusting parts of the show -- cues, stage placement, stuff like that.
I've been telling people that the one thing I like better than seeing a world class performance is seeing how that performance gets assembled. The talent on that stage was as good as anyone can expect -- but the kicker was the realization that Michael had a hand on every part of it. He either knew or created all the notes, all the dance moves... everything. This wasn't a matter of a production crew building a show and plugging in a singer. This was all his.
I'm not going to score it -- sorry.

wasn't ever a huge fan but i have an appreciation for his contributions to music & the choreography
of dance. sounds like a must see. helluva performer-one of the best-ever.
