Wow, time flies. It seems like it been here forever.
I think it's working.![]()
Congratulations on the first week! I feel blessed as I just started to look for bikes this week, and here's the very forum I needed!
Best wishes,
TinyCycler
So far it seems pretty cool! I have not had a chance yet to read all the posts, but the Forum itself seemed to have filled a need...
So far there's been a lot of "look at my hybrid" and "look at all the junk I stuck on my hybrid." But I suspect that things will settle down soon, with people focusing more on problem solving.
It reminds me of when we were kids. During the first week of school, we were all excited about our new clothes and shiny new pencils. By week two the harsh reality of bullies and homework had set in, and no one cared about their sweet new backpack.
I only just came across bikeforums.com overall this week, so I didn't realize the hybrid forum was so new. But it's one of the reasons I took an interest in these forums.![]()

The Hybrid Forum has magic powers.
I've been out of work for awhile. Then the HF was created.
Yesterday, I found some work.
What can the forum do for you?
Kevin
The hybrid forum is made of Epic Win.
Yay! We made it a week. And I'm rebuilding one of my hybrids so soon I'll have pretty pix to post of it. I just removed the bottom bracket from my hybrid all by myself! Little things make me happy. Hybrid forum, bottom bracket removal. I'm giddy.
Didn't know this was only 1 week old. I'd say it's off to a great start. Starting to appreciate the hybrid humor. I have learned a lot already being a newbie to biking.
Thanks to Timber 8, Panthers007 and Sixty Fiver and others for leading the way.
#1 - clearly by the many posts (i think its a lot for a week)- this was something that this site definitely needed. other hybrid owners (like myself) came onto this site and said WTF - where is the hybrid section. now new users wont have that thought anymore.
#2 - i thought it was nice to see that so many of us are Trek owners/lovers/riders. i didnt expect that honestly. i expected everyone else to have 1-off exotic italian bikes or something crazy like that. i thought i would be the only 1 with a trek but i was proven wrong within the 1st day. ive been harassed by elitist bike snobs for having a trek but i realize they only hate because they're jealous :-D
im definitely staying on this forum to help others. i only know about treks, as do many others, so i hope what i input can help anyone in any way.

Wow, only a week old? Then I must say something to get in on the ground floor. Although my hybrid is hanging in the garage. Gave up it's wheels so I can ride the new trail bike, which is built around Nashbar's cyclocross frame. Actually I guess it's still a hybrid, just a lighter and faster version.

I don't have a Trek but I am a Trekkie. I love my Marin hybrids, one of which I'm rebuilding. Anyone else love a Marin?
The credit for this belongs to Timber and Panthers.
This forum has gotten off to a good start and I'll keep doing my best to make sure the trekkies don't overwhelm the joint...
I picked up a vintage hybrid this week for a fraction of what it was worth and just came back from a 40 km midnight ride on the aforementioned bicycle.
It may very well be one of the nicest bicycles in the stable right now.
Cannondales rule! Treks drool!
(Sorry! I couldn't resist!)
This is a great addition to BF. I'm looking forward to more conversations!![]()

Crackandfails rule ?
Steel is real my friend and vintage steel is even better... but I think I am preaching to the preacher here on that one.

You have seen pics and I'd take more except right now...it is REALLY dirty.
We did some serious mud bogging last night.
