Don't post in here that you don't like the software, or that you want to go back to the old software, please limit it to technical problems so we can avoid having them scattered all over the forums. If it was fixed, it's not an issue any longer. If it's still an issue, it wasn't fixed either in part or completely. This is the best way I can think of of getting an unpolluted comprehensive list of active, current problems still in play. This way, I only get what's still an issue for us to address.

Also, as this thread grows, read through it before you report and see if your issue has been reported already, if possible, and list that post number with your duplicate report. This will tell me if it's either a chronic or reccurring issue, or if something broke in the software. This way, also, I can keep my tech forum list of issues up to date, as well.

Noted, maybe not a deal but still...Posting permissions appear ABOVE where my reply window was until I went Advanced...CURIOUS, not deadly.

I downgraded to IE7 yesterday and ran into trouble with the ATTACHEMENT routine again. I will change the mouse and see if I have a messy one (*Aren't all mice messy?) to see if the photos work still.

The file upload thing is very unintuitive.
As it is now, I'm not sure why it makes you go in a huge circle.
"add files" > "select files" > "insert image" > "open attachment yourself" > "copy hyperlink" > "add img/img to hyperlink"

why can't it be more like "upload image" > "choose files" > (automatic insert) ?

1. It looks like the final page is 6 on long threads. This has been mentioned by other posters, too. Show it as 1 2 3 ... 13 14 15
2. Replies/views jumps into it's own column when the screen hits a certain width (narrow screens show it in the Last Post column.)
But it gets cut off - the column is too narrow. It's even worse when I use NoSquint and show the page at 100% with the text at 120%--which is my normal viewing text size for BF.
The columns look correct when expanded to the full 1152 width of my screen, but I always run a firefox sidebar, and that's too wide to read comfortably, anyway.
3. The >> latest post icon is really tiny.
4. The envelope icons are different colors-- but there's no hover popup explanation -- what are they for??

I'll usually either click the last page or the last post button on a big thread.

I'd rather have less preview text and more posts on the page, too.

Why not make the "new posts" screen look and function just like all the other index screens (of the various forums)? It's so freaking ugly and requires so much scrolling down and then loading of new pages...

new posts screen still doesn't say how many pages of results there are with no option to go to the last page. Also when there are more than 6 pages of posts in a thread the bit below the thread title only shows pages 1,2,3,4,5,6 surely it should say 1,2,3... as it did before?

How about the most fundamental of the lot:

Stop logging users off just because they haven't ticked the damned Remember Me box. It was a fundamental problem previously and STILL IS!!!

I posted in LD last night and went back to edit it, only to find more than half of it deleted when the edited version was saved again... and I was logged off. It comes after a litany of similar occurences with the previious vB version and lost posts, some of which took quite some time to compose. We won't even talk about how the ability of this version to communicate with my computer network has caused all sorts of lost-post frustrations.

This is the ONLY forum where this ridiculous action occurs. I should NOT have to copy a post just in case it disappears.

And to think, people paid good money to use this forum. Fools.

If you click the arrow that should go to the next page when looking at the new posts list, it goes to the first page instead of the next.

And would it be possible to make "Quick Navigation" default to the current forum instead "Settings"? As it is now, it's quicker to hit the "Top" button and click on the forum name at the top of the page than to use "Quick Navigation". Or you could just rename it "Annoyingly Inconvenient Navigation".

Post reply still defaults to the Quick Reply only. The reply font in the Advanced Reply window is microscopic. I'm Using Firefox 3 on either a PC or a Mac.

I saw the "post/reply overlap problem" several times today. [Minefield on Vista] Not only the in-line reply boxes, but also the fixed box at the bottom of the page. When in this mode the quoted text doesn't wrap and there is no vertical scroll. It's possible that the reply is appended to the quote and thus displayed horizontally, but I didn't think to check that.

That's just five that I remembered off the top of my head. Those will cost IB a buck a piece.

Wouldn't it have been simpler to just post the applicable remaining outstanding issues from your alleged bug list into the OP so users could just add what wasn't already there?

Ok, let's look at two ways of doing index screens on this site. I've reduced the screen shots to 66% size so we can all see them easily. Sure, you can't read them perhaps, but you can see the overall layout in a glance.

First, the better way. Here's the index of the road racing forum. You can see 9 threads on one screen, you get details of who posted the thread, you easily see how many views and how many replies, you see a number linking you to the last page in the thread (page 253 under "my twitter feed" for example), you get the last post info/link, and if you want a preview of what is in the thread, you just hover your mouse over it like I did for the Vaughter's thread and up pops a text preview.



Now let's look a the bad way. Here's the index of the "new posts" page. You can see only 4 threads, the layout is a total disaster and you don't get the info and link to the last page (no "253" under the my twitter feed": it just stops at 6. It's better than it was when it first debuted, but it's still a disaster.




Now...why can't we just make the new posts index look like all the others!

We don't have a choice as to what software drives the site nor does Tom own the site. If we received a dozen rotten eggs than we will incubate grossly deformed chicks and they will call us MOMMA.

I DO. That is why I'm trying to help by turning in screenshots and bug reports. This software wasn't fatal, we've gotten it out of ICU and into a normal bed and WE ARE STRONGER. So what if we did more R&D than vBulletin did in the months before...

OUR FORUMS HAD PROBLEMS BEFORE and they were not directly fixable by simply migrating them.

While I reserve my commentary I have no fear to tell you that you are too whiny and have an extremely negative attitude.

Resolve it and grow within.
