I thought I'd add my bike to the jubilee clip club:

As you can see, only one clip. Time will tell how well it will hold up, but so far, rock solid. I've tested it with some heavy groceries over pot-holed streets, and all seems well.
If this works well, I will likely do the same thing to my upcoming cargo bike as well... Very handy if you already have invested in Brompton luggage.
PS. Sorry about the funky rotation, uploader doesn't like vertical iphone pics, apparently.

You can also ask a machinist to custom drill the block to headset. I did that on my dt nova. Cost $50

I think I can definately lose my top clip. I notice yours seems to be resting on the bottom frame tube welding flange, so no chance of it slipping down. I guess I could lower my block so it is doing that too.
Worth puting a little black heat shink/emagulating tape on to neaten it up ?

Finally got around to finish the Brompton basket projects. Added a top to the baskets that can be closed by rolling or just used as a lining. The top is mainly to keep stuff from falling out or to add bulky but lightish items like a jacket or a helmet.

Very nice badmother. I'd been considering adding some sort of top section but hadn't thought of your design, which is very versatile. I might do something similar with some hi vis yellow fabric and a drawstring. The shoulder strap I've added has made the basket much more useful.
OP was saying they wanted a smaller bag..
they should be advised that now there is a Ortlieb-Brompton Bag ,Available Brompton bags are too big for my needs. I'd like to clip on the block a small/narrow bag.
with the custom made clip integrated into one of Ortlieb's handlebar bags.
slides right on the Brompton frame clip, and is shower proof..

Noting: Fabricators, like Steve Parry, have brazed together
pieces of steel,
to create a piece to mount bags like Carradice superC HB bags
on
Brompton frames.
the German firm made a injection mold to make their piece,
in production numbers.

Shoulder straps is also on my list. Need to get hold of some D- rings first. I think also adding a piece of webbing innside the basket when stitching the webbing that holds the D-ringd in place is going to make it stronger, since basket material and design is not really made for a shoulderstrap.
Edit: When I posted this in the Yahoo Brompton forum I suggested that If you want to fill it up often then maybe go for a sturdyer material (in that case you must use a roll top, not a draw string). Also you can add a strap of webbing
vertically around the "stomack" of the basket to keep it together/more compact.
And: fietsbob my dear. Some of us are trying to collect different options for B luggage in one thread to make it easyer for peopel to search and find suggestions for same. I am sure they can judge the different options without your eager advice an always helpful comments. Maybe it is time to do the dishes?

my Touring bag was bought a year before they did a PVC Lined version,
now I have found a Local sewing jobber to get a liner layer added..
will delay needing to pull out the rain cover a while longer ..
Touring bag puts the D rings in the back seam for the bag frame.. FWIW..
a strap around the load to pull it down and out of the way of the handlebars
Is probably useful ..
Been thinking about the lining issue with the T bag since I am about to start making three of them, one for each of us. Has been collecting "stuff" needed for some time.
The main bag (black material) is going to be made from a heavy ripstop I bought some time back. Not water proof I think but close. Same with the lighter lining material. My worry is that since both materials are almost water proof then water trapped between them (one day it is going to happen) can stay there for quite some time and maybe start moulding if mixed with"stuff".
I need to find a way to insert the stiff support for the bottom into the construction. Maybe a opening in the bottom of the bag (from the innside) closed with welcro to be able to open up and vent it out? Maybe I am just thinking too much?
Remember to seal the seams if you want waterproof. I think I`ll end up using the rain cower but who knows?
