Critical Mass
Please join us for a Critical Mass in St Petersburg FL Thursday March 26 at 8am Northshore pool downtown. This will not be a long ride we will make a loop downtown and back to the pool.
Just trying to let the public know how many we are and that it should be safe for us too.

lmethot - a couple of pointers:
#1. Despite the fact this is the A&S forum, proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar is - ironically enough - often used and highly advised.
#2. A&S is not CM-friendly.
#3. Therefore, following the lead from #1 and #2, don't post in A&S about upcoming CM events using chatspeak.

Oh, to the contrary, dear sirs: a loosely assembled cluster of cyclists enjoying an exuberant, spontaneous evening ride on the public thoroughfares is quite refreshing, and an aspect of the sport of safety bicycling everyone should strive to participate in as often as providence allows.

I was going to join this ride in Atl last month. Afterward, there is a story on the news about a group of ******bag cyclists taking some agression out on a group of non cyclists (I can't recall if they were drivers or peds) and getting the police involved. I am all for some activism, and have no idea if the offending group of cyclists were actually there for the event, or just to cause trouble...but the end result was turning me off to the whole thing. I will not be attending any of the upcoming rides, just due to not wanting to get caught up in something like that. Talking to a friend who live in Atl and attends regularly, says this is a common occurance for these rides here in Atl.
